14-5-2008 - What last name should I use? OkMy mood while writing this blog:
Ok

Ok, I am a little confused about what last name to give this future baby. I can’t use my old married name because he/she is not from my ex-husband. So, should I use my maiden last name of give this child the last name of his/her father even though we are not married? I just want to make the right choice.

I kinda like the hypen thing, but I've also always said that no matter what my child would have the father's name, if the father was in the picture that is, if not then it's either mine or a hypen, but I gotta agree with Julianna, it really is a personal choice, no one can make it but you and what you feel comfortable with.

You can combine your maiden name with your current husband last name even though u are not married. thats what i plan to do

You can give the child any name you want. I gave my son his father's last name. It really is a personal decision, though. Did you take your maiden name back when you got divorced? If you want to use your current last name, whether it is your ex's or not, you can certainly do so. That way the child would have the same last name as you do.
