14-5-2009 - Nursery Blog EXCITEDMy mood while writing this blog:
EXCITED

So we moved out last year from our place and into my fiances mother's house to help her with some finances after her husband passed away. Now that I'm pregnant, I want to move out again because we're cramped into a small room and it just doesn't work with a baby on the way. However, we won't be able until I work again and I have no idea how to do that without a babysitter!

Anyways...we plan on keeping the crib in our room for awhile since it's one of those ideas on how to prevent SIDS. I guess keeping the baby near will help us catch "situations" better. Yet, our room is always like 10 - 20 degress hotter then the actual temperature (summer hits over 100 degrees F in the room), and we just don't have enough space for all our stuff! So his mom agreed to also let us use the small room downstairs which will act as our second bedroom/nursery with a futon to sleep on during those hot summer nights. We'll call that room the "nursery". It used to be my fiance's aunt's room but since she moved and left all her stuff we have to clean it all out!!

The following will be our journey in getting the rooms ready for our baby on the way, Carissa.

The Plan: Our ROOM: Rearrange furniture - rotate bed - move crib to other side of room away from window, remove the bookcase (transfer to nursery), give away the desk, remove the television (move to nursery). Finally, add a dresser that can be used for storage and for a changing station.

The Plan: NURSERY: Clean up the mess and pack up fiance's aunt's stuff! PAINT walls BLUE - I was considering doing a more eleborate paint scheme and decor but we don't plan on living here long and don't want to put all the extra hours and days in if we're just going to paint over it when we leave at the end of the year. The NURSERY will consist of the swing, play yard (which she can also sleep in), a small dresser, the futon, and bookcase.
