| 21-7-2009 - A visit to Labor and delivery | My mood while writing this blog:Greatful |
So many of you may already know this but yesterday I had a swimming accident in which I was quicked in the stomach by a grown man. I know he didn't mean to do it and it was a total accident but unfortunately it led to me having some tightening of the stomach, lower back pain, and even more scarey, my little man stopped moving. I came on here asking for help because I thought I was just a little paranoid and maybe over reacting. I was given the advice to call my ob which I knew I should have done but needed reassurance was the right thing. They requested that I go be seen at Labor and Delivery just to be on the safe side. It's a good thing I did. When I arrived they hooked me up to a monitor immediately. His heart rate was great, thank God, but to my suprise I was having contractions approximately 7 - 10 minutes apart. (This being my third I was so sure it was nothing.) They kept me over night for observation and scheduled an ultra sound for first thing this morning. The ultra sound turned out beautifully and our little man is doing wonderfully. My contractions are weaker and further apart so they have since sent me home on restrictions. One of which is no more baths incase my water breaks (scarey thought as we still have 10 weeks) but I will do what ever they ask me to at this point. I am so greatful for the support I got yesterday and the strength it gave me to call my OB. I don't want to think about what could have been if I hadn't gone to the hospital. Anyway, I am exhausted as sleeping at the hospital is really and oxy moron and plan to be asleep by eight. I hope to get caught up on all my missed sleep.
