| 03-8-2009 - Baby Shower | My mood while writing this blog:Happy |
So yesterday was my "suprise" baby shower. My mother in law was in charge and as much as she was trying I kinda ended up feeling bad for her. The hall she rented ended up flooding and water was coming from both the emergency exit and the ceiling. So in the middle of eating we all had to move tables and presents and try to not get wet. Then While my husband and I were openning gifts her family had to leave because of other plans they had. I didn't mind but she was really angry over it.
The shower was more for my husband then it was for me. Which was fine with me since I had one when Isabell was born. We recieved a ton of comic book and super hero onesies and teeshirts. Plus he got two or three matching t-shirts himself. They gave him a bat cave to play with his son with and lots of temporary tatoos. I had to laugh cause he was sooooo excited. His cousin even had made a batman and robin crib quilt, birp cloth, and two matching bibs. He was elated. Most of his family was there. Except for a few who were either sick or kids were sick.
My parents came from out of state and brought with them gifts from my side of the family. Most of which just couldn't make the 3 hour one way trip. We got almost everything we needed. The crib, tall and small dressers, a swing, the travel system, lots of clothes pretty much everything. We still have to put it all away but it's a work in progress. There is only one thing we still need to get and that's a monitor. The only problem is the one I really like is only available online. I don't need anything fancy. Just a monitor and one reciever. Which suprisingly enough they don't seem to carry anywhere.
For the most part everyone seemed to have a good time. My mother in law was a little upset but we tried to tell her not to worry about it. These things happen and it will make for a great story to tell him when he's older. Wether or not she calms down about it we will have to see. I hope everyone else had a great weekend!
