My mood while writing this blog: upset |
Please keep Logan in your prayers. He started running a fever last night and we called the doctor to see what we should do. He is only 18 days old and with both the mumps and H1N1 going around I didn't know if I could just give him tylenol or if he needed to be seen in the office. I was caught so far off gaurd when our pediatrician informed me that if his fever climb .3 degrees we needed to take him to the hospital for test. She said that they would have to run not only blood work and urine but they would also have to do a spinal since he's not even a month old yet. I am so scared and petrified. I have been praying all day that God would keep him safe. He's sitting with Daddy right now but he just woke after sleeping for 5 hours straight. And he's been eating less all day. I don't even think I will be able to sleep tonight out of fear he wont wake up. Please ladies keep us in your thoughts. I really hope we don't end up having to take him to the hospital. Thanks ahead of time for your concern.

Sunday, 25 Oct I hope he gets better asap. Did the dr say you could try infants motrin? Motrin is a little stronger then tylenol I think depending on the situation. femi -
Sunday, 25 Oct My daughter had a fever at three days old and taking her to the hospital was traumatic. I cried so much. I couldn't even watch the spinal. It was so hard. Feed him a little formula to make sure it isn't a hunger/dehydration induced fever as is common with newborns that don't have other infections. My milk came in late and I thought I at least had colostrum, but my daughter actually wasn't getting anything and became dehydrated. We did formula for a little while and still kept breastfeeding .. eventually we got back on the road to exclusively breastfeeding (within a matter of days after she came home from the hospital). secondandexcited -
