| 14-11-2009 - Finally home!!! | My mood while writing this blog:exstatic |
So sorry to keep you all worrying. It has been a very long month for us. The doctors decided against a CAT scan because they all agreed that it would be useless in this case and unnessisary to put him through the radiation associated with it. They did do the MRI which showed no signs of any brain damage at this point. Prays God... The herpes verious also came back negative. Awesome... Then they decided to do another spinal since the bacteria they had from the origanal tap wasn't growing. With this second draw they found that there was no longer any bacteria in his spinal fluid. So the infectious desease, PICU, and primary pediatrician came to a unanomous decision to send him home. Two days later he was feverish and screaming. We rushed him back to his pediatrician and found that he now had a double ear infection. The recommendation has been that he continue on antibiotic treatment at home. With some major precations. 1. Everyone who enters our home must whar a protective mask. 2. His sisters have to sanitize and mask up before coming near him. 3. Any fever and he has to return to the hospital for another spinal and more blood work. 4. He has to remain on monitors at night as a precaution for SIDS, respitory distress, or other complication. He is almost done his antibiotics and will have to return to the pediatric specialist with in the next two weeks. I am crossing my fingers that all goes well. In the mean time I am enjoying being able to rock him in our living room and sleep next to my husband at night. He is doing better which is all anyone could ask for and I have faith that Christ Jesus will continue to heal and strengthen our son. After spending countless hours with all of you over the past 9 months I know you have all been keeping us in your thoughts and prayers and I appreciate it so very much. Miss you all and hope that your families are staying happy and healthy.
