| 25-11-2009 - Back to the ER with Logan | My mood while writing this blog:tired |
So here I am again and I know you are all probably just as tired of hearing my tales of woe when it comes to Logan as I am having to live them but right now you are all I have to get me through. Anyway, Logan spiked a fever and started vomiting up everything so off to the pediatric ER we went. When we got there the same nurses and techs were on that were there last time which was reassuring. They all came in to see why we were back and rushed us straight into a private room and started his work up right away. Then the resident came in and asked a bunch of questions. She informed us that the attending would be in to see us shortly. Two hours later, still no attending and no results I asked the tech to check on them. He said they were still waiting on one result but that the attending would be in with us soon to explain what was going on. An hour later another nurse came in and explained that they were calling our pediatrician to find out wether he wanted the hospital to keep Logan over night or wether he felt it best we be sent home. But that once a decision was made the doctor would be in. 2 hours after that a tech came in and said she was there to take out his IV. EXCUSE ME. We still hadn't seen a doctor, no one had told us what was going on with our son, we had been told he might be staying and now your just taking out his IV I don't think so. Furious at us she ran out to get the attending. He then tried convincing us that the other doctor had been in but once he checked the charts realized that he hadn't and then began with fleeting apologees. Told us our son still had an ear infection but his work up came back ok and instead of admitting him for observation they felt it safer for him to go home and be seen by his pediatrician tomorrow morning. Out he went in came the same tech to take out his IV. She starts, gets it half way out and her phone goes off and as unbelievable as it is to believe she stopped halfway through taking it out to check her phone leaving it hanging out of his little hand. Stupid b!tch. I left there so angry and frustrated. We went to our pediatrician today and he said that Logans ears were getting better but are still infected. Also he now has a stomach virus and to watch him and his temp and of course his vomitting. So of course we are having even more fun. Looks like thanksgiving is going to be great fun. Oh and as if things havent been hard enough our oven is broke and I can't even cook a thanksgiving meal for my family. So I guess it will be take out. Yuck! Anyway I have done enough rambling. Hope you all have a great week with your family's. By the way just so you know I am still very thankful. Logan may still be sick but he is home where he belongs. My husband is off this year so we will all be together, and my girls can turn any day into a laugh fest. So I am sure it will still be a wonderful Thanksgiving.
