My mood while writing this blog: Ok |
Let me just inform you all that I must be a complete idiot. You see while at the bus stop today I over heard another mother talking about how her "house keeper" is moving and now she's going to have to call her "cleaning service" and go through the process of learning to trust someone else all over again. Now if this wasn't suprising enough for me the women she was speaking with responded to her by saying this "I don't know which service you use but my girl comes twice a week and she's fabulous if you want I can give you her number." Now I must have spent atleast two days milling over what I had heard and trying to convince myself that I must have heard it wrong. So after much consideration, since I knew they were both stay at home mom's like myself, since all of their children where in school all day, since their husbands are at work from 8-5:30 every day I had to be wrong... Or was I? I know it may have seemed noisey but I thought what the hay, it can't hurt to ask. If I am wrong we can all have a good laugh and if I was right then they wont know wether or not I hired someone on or not. So I asked and low and behold. I was right, they do both have house keepers. Twice a week, someone else cleans their homes for them. I can't believe it. Toilets, laundry, wood floors, everything was being done by someone else. I felt so heart broken. Like by not having someone else clean my home for me I was messing up. I think we all struggle with the house especially with three kids but a house keeper. I hate to say it but I am really jealous. I feel like a total idiot... Here I am the only women still doing all her own house work? Do all of you do your own cleaning? Or do you have cleaning doubles too?

Sunday, 21 Feb ooHow easy life would be to have some else come do my laundy & clean my house 2 days a week heck even 1 I wouldnt have to like anything! No you arent the only mom & as far as I'm concerned if you are a stay at home mom & your kids are at school you should beable o handle it. For all of us we have new little ones in the housebut if we had no kids in the house & no husband in the house my house would be spotless in 4 hours & I could do laundy every other day. ok Its my dream world.lol mungbean -
Sunday, 14 Feb nope i still do all the housework here. cleaners are way too expensive. the idea is nice, but i have my own little system going and it keeps the house livable. believe it or not i find folding washing relaxing. especially when all the kids are asleep and the house is quiet and i stand there buried in it folding away. jaydenty -
Monday, 8 Feb Well, I work full time and so I have to get a maid 3 times a week, else the house would look like a pig sty. When I was on maternity leave for 4 months, i still let my maid come in. Gees, you need some time for you as well. He gets a break on the weekends when he comes home from his job, but yours is like constant, and you cant get away from it, its around you all the time, so I would definitely get help. Cannot live without it. juels101 -
Sunday, 7 Feb goodness NOO your not the only one who still does it... and I am jeaous of those women just reading about them lol. I would love to afford someone just do do laundry, or just dishes haha. femi -
Saturday, 6 Feb Oh, and we both work full-time jobs, so getting a maid is soooo tempting for the frequent times that our house looks like a bomb hit it! femi -
Saturday, 6 Feb My husband does the majority of the cleaning because I make sure all the bills are paid with our pooled income, among other paperwork duties that go along with making sure our home stays afloat. :oP I clean here and there, but he does laundry, dishes, etc. Also, I cook. We mop/sweep more infrequently than we should, but when it gets done, I do that. However, I must add that we hired a maid for a one-time Spring cleaning in 2009. It was wonderful! Having a maid doesn't need to be so expensive, it all depends on when you need her and what you need her to do and then budgeting it in the way you budget anything in. I wish I could have one but I would feel guilty about never really cleaning things myself. However, I plan to hire another when it comes time for Spring cleaning .... maybe hire one four times a year for those major seasonal clean-ups. :oP But don't feel guilty or anything! Jealous? Maybe a little. :oP But that'll wear off after you see that they're the exception and not necessarily the rule. Moonjuice -
Saturday, 6 Feb I wish I had a maid too!! I wouldn't spend the money though. I don't care if my house is perfect. It's not messy, but I wouldn't eat off the floors like you can at my sis-in-laws house!! lol I don't think I'm gonna die one day and say, "I wish I cleaned the house more." haha kjslover -
Saturday, 6 Feb No I don't have a housekeeper either. However, if my parents ever move out where I can afford to hire one again (had one a few years ago) I definitely will. Of course I'm not a stay at home Mom and I feel like I spend all my time at work and come home to spend about 30 minutes with Paige and the rest of the time doing chores before getting ready for bed! cuddlebunnymeg -
Saturday, 6 Feb Jeremy helps me with the housework. I still take care of Brooklynn more but we help out each other. I recently started working again so its been a rough adjustment. We can't afford for me to stay home, but when I did I did most of the housework.
