11-2-2010 - Road trip

My mood while writing this blog: Anxious

We are leaving tomorrow morning for my grandmothers. This is a quick 12 - 15 hour drive with 3 children (ages 8, 5, & 4 months) So we already have 6 movies picked out for the DVD player. The girls are exciting because in Tennesee / North Carolina they have real hills. This should make having a sled a lot more fun. (We pull them around the flat back yard currently) I am nervous about seeing my grandmother as her cancer is progressing and I will be taking her to her last radiation treatment on Monday. With follow-ups Wednesday and Friday. My Aunt will be leaving when we arrive. She told me mama (that's what I call her) is almost completely bald and down to 72 lbs. She is so tiny and frail. I think everyone is trying to prepare me for what she is going to look like but I don't think anyone can understand it until they see it with their own eyes. I will need to bath her, feed her, and care for all of her needs while I am done there. To make things even harder my grandfather is scenial and loosing his loosidity rather quickly so my husband will be bathing him and helping him "remember" I am hoping in the middle of all this madness we can find time to relax and enjoy a little time with our own family. We wont be back until the 20th so I will update you then on how things are going. Please keep us in your prayers as we travel to and from our destination. I will miss you all while we are away.
