04-2-2009 - up coming dr visit!

My mood while writing this blog: ok

Ok, so I went to the dr. last Wednesday, and they are still not happy with the diabetes control, even thought it stays under 160 and is around 130 most the time, they think I should be out on an insulin pump, (it is the size of a blackberry and is strapped to my side and has a needle thing in a vein on my leg or hip, and releases insulin every time I need it) so good news is that it will cut down the 5 shots a day to 2 shots a day, that would be AWESOME! My stomach looks like someone beat on me for hours. The Heparin does it to me so I will still have that issue even with the insulin pump! Ok, also while I was there we saw the baby move!!!! TOOO COOOL!!! I never imagined seeing something like it, what an experience being pregnant is, I will have to say everything we do while we are pregnant is worth it all in the end!!! The Doc did an ultrasound over my belly and was pointing out the face features and I told her I cant see it, and than she started pushing on where the baby was and all of a sudden it jumped!!! What made it even more special was that my husband was there, he is a kitchen manager so it is hard for him to come to visits. So the scary visit is next week, I am not too worried though cause I know everything is ok, because I am so high risk they scheduled the ultrasound to look at the neural tube of the baby to make sure the baby has no brain defects, so I have that on Wednesday. The good news is that I dont have to pay for it, (it helps) The docs asked me to take part in a research study that monitors the cardiac system of the baby and the affects a women with diabetes has while pregnant. All they do is monitor the baby and do ultrasounds at every appointment and I get to have a lot of appointments. So I said why not. Well, welcome to 11 weeks, only 2 more weeks and I will be out of the 1st trimester. How crazy is that?
