23-3-2009 - Pregnancy update March 24

My mood while writing this blog: Tired

First I gotta say I love the little smile guy up there typing, that is so me.. I don't wear glasses but I do wear contacts and with me working my 12 hour shifts typing on a computer I feel like that little smile guy up there. I am EXHASTED!!! I found out that my last day here (away from home) should be Thursday, I have been away from home since March 3 and I am sure I have said it before, since then I have been working 12 hours a day night shift 6pm to 6 am, 6 days a week and I am SOOOOOOOO over it now.. Don't get me wrong, I love the money and the job, but since I became pregnant I just want to be home... Ok, so for the baby update, the last blog was about the 1st trimester screening, well they couldn't see what they wanted to on the first ultrasound screening so they asked me to come back a week later, well I went back and again little baby thing didn't want to be in the right position so again they couldn't see anything... At least to me I got to see my little baby jumpn and waving and being a little baby in my belly (this was at week 12) I am now at week 18, well I am a day a way from week 18... Since they couldn't get what they wanted from the ultrasound they are doing the blood tests, I have had my first drawing and went back for my second blood drawing last week..

As of now, the baby no longer feels like butterflies, I feel stronger kicks in my lower tummy. I know this probably sounds horrible, but I keep catching myself calling my baby my little alien, cause that is such an odd feeling when the baby moves or kicks but I love the feeling.. I am not sceduled for the next ultrasound til April 15th... I will be 21 weeks and I will finally get to find out what the baby is.. I think it is a boy, the heartbeat has been 150 and last week it was 141. I will just have to wait and see. So the names we picked are: if a boy- Caden Michael and if a girl- Ashlyn Rae!!!
