My mood while writing this blog: happy |
Had a visit with my midwife today. I have been having a hard time settling Patrick at night as he feeds for up to 4 hours and is still starving at the end and I have been topping him up with formula. I told my midwife all of this. I have been having special tea to try to increase my supply and taking spiralina every feed too. It's only been 2 days so to soon to know if it'll work. She sat with me while I feed and had loyts of suggestions which was great, after about 30 mins she realised that I just don't have enough volume of milk. I was so glad to hear that as I thought it was just me, and i had felt so bad about topping up with formula. Hse has put me on domperidome to increase my supply so hopefully I will start seeing the affects in about 4 days.

Wednesday, 13 Jan I had a slow supply with my little one too, I found espressing helped build my supply and also I spok to a lactation consultant who suggested tigers milk (its like a shake you make high in protien) hope what you are trying works out, keep me posted. manda-may -
Wednesday, 13 Jan Hey Darlin,That's great that you've pin pointed the problem and are having a go with the meds. They are the same stuff that I was on... they did boost my milk although I still had to top up... I took 2 little tablets 3 times a day. The lactation specialist said that I could up the pills again to see if I could get more milk, but it might be doubtful. So I decided to stick with my dose that I already had and the boys thrived on BM and formula. I really hope little Patrick is going to be feeling much fuller and happier soon, and that you get more sleep!!! Lots and lots of love! xxx bella124 -
Wednesday, 13 Jan Sorry to hear this. I had the same problem, and meds never seemed to help. I hope they work for you.
