24-2-2009 - Why people are just inconsiderate

My mood while writing this blog:
annoyed

So I'm really trying not to be a b.... in anyway BUT, why can't people just pick up a phone and respond. My shower is on saturday and today is tuesday and no responses for my shower. All the invites were sent out on Feb 6th and in was right on the invite to RSVP by the 21st. I don't understand what the problem is with people, it's not like I haven't known 1/2 of these people my entire life because they are my family. There were 39 invites sent out and only 4 or 5 RSVP'ed, this just hurts my feelings. Today I spent 1/2 the day sending out text messages to certain people that I really want to be there.....no text back. The problem that I'm having with these people is that 2 of the responses were from out of state, but yet the people that are here within 30mins away can't just pick up a phone. Now the other problem is.....food. How am I suppose to go shopping if I have no clue on how much to buy, let alone make and then the cake, a 1/2 sheet was ordered but that's going to be alot of cake to just through away. It's not like I can call the bakery and say....don't make my cake just make 6 cupcakes, the cake has been paid. So I'm going tomorrow and doing the shopping...hoping everyone will come so I'm not wasteing all this money on food, when I could put it towards things for my baby. I'm just annoyed.

I'm sorry I know it can be very frustrating when people don't respond back, I went through the same thing with mine. I hope everything turns out for you!

i understand where you are coming from hun....my hsuband and I are having problems with money right now, and my mom had talked to one of my family members and they were talking about having a baby shower to kinda help us out and all, and I told my mom even later that next day that we could really use that shower for the baby, and she said I know I have to talk to your aunt some more about it and see what we can do for you, but here we are a week later and still nobody has talked to anyone, and we are getting closer to the baby being born, what do I do? I hate it when people say they are going to do something and don't do it. she got my hopes up I have never had a baby shower at all, and I think it would be so cool to have one, but doesn't look like I am going to be able too....anyways I hope you get all the people that you are looking forward to being there...there....because like I said I know what you mean money is hard to throw out the door now a days and you are excited about this I can tell, and thats good that you are, but keep me posted and let me know how it turned out for you.....
