| 26-6-2009 - Baby food---confusing | My mood while writing this blog:ok |
Hello mommy's out there how are you all doing. I'm pretty good these days. Evan is doing great. We went to the doctors on wednesday for his first round of shots, he did awesome. He only wiggled a little when me and Steve were holding him on the table, other than that his shots didn't bother him at all. He was pretty much shot all day yesturday though. He weighs 12lb 10ozs, 23 1/2 inches and his mellon(head) is measuring 16......my baby boy is getting so big. I thought it was pretty funny when Steve asked his doctor about giving Evan a different type of formula because he spits up. The doctor looks at him and says....of course he spits up he a baby, baby's spit it's part of nature. The doctor also asked Steve if he was a pediatrcian....now that I had to laugh at. Steve said no and the doctor said back to him ok then how about if I do the doctor thing and you be the parent who only sees his child 4 days out of the month. At first I was like damn, but then I thought about it and said yes Steve let him be the doctor. The whole appointment was pretty entertaining I must admit.
So now I've had a dilema going on about what I should do. All along I've picked things up that I will need for Evan as he gets older instead of waiting until he needs something. Well I picked up some ceral for him as well as baby food and juice. Where my dilema falls into place is when should I start giving him these new foods. He has always had an issue with his formula with keeping it down. He has been on 3 different kinds and they all have the same out come, it goes down and then comes right back up....not all but the majority does. My sister had the same prolem with one of my neices so she started her on ceral real early but I can't remember at what month it was. My mom had both myself and my sister on ceral and baby food at 2 1/2 months because from what she says....we just wouldn't take the bottle no more.
I tried looking on here about when to switch him over and it sorta said about 4 months. I've asked around and I get differnt answers, some say around 3 months and others say not until after 6 months. I went onto the Gerber website, all it basically has on there is the milestones, newborn..supported sitter...sitter and on. He falls under the suppoted sitter, but it doesn't give the month to go from formula to food. So my question to you ladies.....when should I give it to him?????? In other words HELP!!!! All my sister said was if he'll take it off the spoon then he can have it. I guess my dad did about 4ozs of ceral and he sucked it off the spoon. I don't know how long it took or how messy it was I wasn't there to see it. But he said Evan took it like a champ, so your guess is as good as mine. I'm just confused about the whole thing.
