| 23-7-2009 - Happy Birthday Leighton! | My mood while writing this blog:In Love........ |
So it's almost two weeks later and I am finally getting to writing about our baby boys arrival. Let me start by saying, "what a rush".....he was in I mean!!!!!!!!
Just over a week before Leighton was born I went to the doctors and they told me that I would have him that weekend, I was 3cm and 80%. Needless to say I did not go into labor. So, after hearing that next week that I had not changed at all and could possibly have to be induced two days after my due date I was very discouraged. On Friday the 10th I woke at about 3 in the morning to a big glob of bloody yuck (TMI, I know). I called the doctor and she said that I should go back to bed and if my contrations got worse to call. So they started getting worse and by about 7 in the morning they were 5 minutes apart. I waited till 8 when the regular office opened and dropped my daughter off with my mother. I called the office and was told to go to the hospital to be checked. I got there and my contractions slowed to every 15 minutes, they checked me and I was still 3cm and 80%.......errrrr! So, they sent me home and said come back when you can't walk or talk because the pain is so bad.
We went home and my husband decided to go into work for a bit to get things in order because we were pretty sure it was going to be in the next day or so, that is what they said at the hospital. He drove to work, about 15 minutes from home and I sat down to finish watching the movie I was watching during the night (because I could not go back to sleep). After about 15 minutes, I started to be really uncomfortable with the contractions, I got on my hands and knees and felt a huge gush, went to the bathroom and had trouble walking back, because of the pain. I called my husband and said that he better get home quickly. I then called the doctor's office, in tears because I was panicked, and they said that I should hurry and go to the hospital. In the mean time my mother called, because we were planning on going to lunch once they sent me home the first time. She could tell that something was wrong and asked if she should come and get me and meet my husband at the hospital. I called him back and he was almost home, so I waited a few more minute for him and we went to the hospital. He dropped my off and went to park the car and I walked up to L&D without waiting. They put me back in the room I had just left, I was 5-6 100%.
I went into the tub for about two hours, then got out because I needed something the contractions were so strong and so fast there was no break in between. They gave me nubain and about 45 minutes later I was begging for something else, because I could not get it under control, they checked me again and said that it was time to puch. The doctor came in for the first time since I had been there and he was born 30 minutes later. So, like I said when he decided he was coming.....he was in a rush.
He is perfect and was very kind doing no damage on the way out! So, I have been feeling pretty well. He was backwards, so in the 30 minutes while I was pushing him out he also had to turn and caused some serious pain to my tailbone so that is the only thing that needs a bit of care. I feel like I fell ice skating or down the stairs or something, everytime I sit. Well worth it!!!!!!!! I put a picture of him on the children's page and in the main picture for the profile. Oh, and HE LOOKS JUST LIKE DADDY, sooooooo cute!!!!!!!!!!
