| 27-9-2008 - realistic thoughts on a c-section | My mood while writing this blog:positive |
ok so basically, the whole idea of a c-sections freaked me out a bit from the beginning but the closer it gets, the more optimistic and ok i am with it. i dont understand why the stigma that comes along with cesareans are so bad. i mean if anything, my final thoughts on the whole thing is that i'd much rather have a c-section than a vaginal birth. i mean, of course i'd like to experience the process of a natural birth at least once in my life but think about it. with a cesarean, it's easier for family to know when to come to the hospital so planning's easier. especially with me when i live 3 hours away from everyone in my family so they know when to take work off etc, i don't have to worry about crapping all over the bed, i don't have to worry about which kind of pain relief, if any, i'm going to want during labor, i won't have to worry about how long my labor's going to last, the crazy crazy crazy bleeding that goes on and on for six weeks afterwards and i don't have to worry about tearing/ripping either. thank god i dont have to go through any of that crap and i can have at least a tad of dignity at the end of the day. the horror stories i hear are seriously, all from people that have never even experienced a c-section and they're just going off what they've heard. the women i've talked to that've actually had them say that they loved it and said it was definitely better than being in labor for 2 days. like the girl i talked to yesterday said that she felt amazing afterwards aside from just being a little sore for a little bit and that even though she wasn't supposed to, but had to cuz she was single mom and had a 3 year old, everyday life wasn't hard to get through. thankfully my grandmother is coming to stay with me for a few days afterwards and my fiance is amazing and i know he's going to help a ton. i say help me a ton because i feel like i'm the one who's carried her for 9 months so i feel like it's more my responsiblity than his even though he's the father. but all in all, i'm ok with having a c-section.
