19-8-2008 - Last Chromosomal Results for Matteo HappyMy mood while writing this blog:
Happy

As I posted earlier, the amnio results were normal, however, my genetic specialist explained to me that what they usually do for the amnio is a "scan" of the chromosomes. I think she said they check if all are there, the shape and size, but the test doesn't actually check for small defects.

Since the baby has 3 abnormalities and my medical history is somewhat baffling to Docs, they suggested another chromosomal test on the baby's cells to check for very small defects and I agreed. (I didn't pay for it....so yeah....they can do whatever they want.)

Well...I got the results. Chromosomes are normal and no small defects are apparent. They told me they are done with all tests. Evviva!!!!!

As far as they are concerned, the abnormalities are not due to any chromosomal issue and the baby will only be monitored.

I feel positive....and can't wait to have a drink. ;)

Ciao....

My goodness, what an ordeal. I am so pleased for you that after all of that follow-through, and you do deserve credit for going through with it, you learned that everything is alright. Now the doctors can love your baby as much as you do, right? ;)
