8/8/08~

Room Before...

Looks really small but my camera takes pictures that look like they are zoomed in...its weird...The room is 13'5"*10'5" so it is small..but not that small.

I have been looking at nursery room stuff since I found out that I was pregnant. I am looking forward to it sooo much! I have picked out the bedding and had it ordered. It came from UPS yesterday!

Bedding

So I already have the crib and furniture picked out for the most part, but I'm not going to order it until the room is ready for it. Me and Mike went to home depot yesterday to look at closet organizers and stuff to do for the walls. I cant decide for sure on an organizer, I really like the look of the wood ones but he wants to do wire because its cheaper. Well figure that out tho. I have decided to kind of "take inspiration"/"copy" from another nursery room I seen on here. I just love the way she has her walls done...Here is a picture of it

I love how she has the paneling and the two different colors seperated by chair rail molding! The only things that are going to be a bit different are the colors slightly and there will probably not be any crown molding...it is just way to expensive for us. But if i can find it cheaper we may do that as well. Also we only want the wood panel 4 ft up the walls... much cheaper...

I have decided on all white furniture... Here is the crib I am wanting...(ended up changing my mind on this crib)

It is the Storkcraft Aspen convertable crib.

I still have to make a few othe decisions on the furniture...but as soon as i have more done ill add more to this blog...

8/9/08~

Me and Mike went to Home Depot today for to purchase some of the starting stuff to start the room. We bought the paneling (5 sheets), Paint (a light blue and darker blue color), closet organizer, and new doors for the closet...(cuz we dont like the sliding doors). Now all we have to get to get the basic stuff done is the molding. Mike is going to work for his dad, who builds houses, this weekend. So he is going to see if we can get some chair rail molding and crown molding cheaper... This stuff is expensive at home depot...ITs like $2 a foot... and we have about 48ft of crown molding and a little less than that of chair rail. So at home depot today i spent about $400...which i dont think is too bad for all we are going to do with it all.

8/18/08~

So i have made alot of idea changes in the last 10 days i guess...lol. I am trying to be less impatient so that i make a good decision...After looking up cribs and reviews/ratings i have found a crib that i like much better, and that other people have wrote reviews on that are much better online...It is the Da Vinci Kalani Crib from Babys R Us and it is actually cheaper anywy then the crib i was looking at...here is a picture...

Also, while looking on craislist today, i am so happy to find the awesomest white dresser/hutch/mirror combo for $150 bucks! Makes me so happy. The ones i were looking at...at the cheapest were going to cost me over $300, and they arent as good as the one im getting...Me and mike are going to pick it up on Sunday...so that makes my day! lol...i get excited to easily... Here is the pics...

I also found some nursery decorations today on craigslist......They go exactly with my nursery room theme... Craiglist rocks...its like one huge garage sale where you can search for what you want.

8/19/08~

Today i got onto craigslist and searched Gliders just in case there were any new ones...and I found the perfect one...it doesnt match the nursery but it is much better quality and it reclines so that what what sold me on it. Heres some pics...

So now im not getting the white and blue ones...just this one...and i love it. I will be going to get the dresser/hutch on sunday, and hopefully get the decorations in the mail...Yay, cant wait to actually start the room!

9/01/08~

Yesterday we got alot done to the room...got all painting done, and the wainscotting...now all we need to do is buy the chair rail molding and get that and the baseboards put up...then move in the dresser and wait for the crib...cant wait!...My aunt came and did all the primering to the room on the 30th, then mikes mom, dad, brother in law, and my friend Kayla came and painted and did everything else yesterday...I love it so much, cant wait for it to be all the way finished! Here are some pics...

(31st) The closet before the wainscotting got put up...The finished room!... Except for the chair rail molding and baseboards...and of course he furniture/decor...yay!

8/7/08~

The other day...probably on the 4th or 5th Mike installed the closet organizer that i love...i thought it was going to be easier then what it was...but i was wrong... it took about 2 hours...but we had to adjust the sizes of some of the peices because they wouldnt fit. Here are the pics ...

10/18~

Havent got on here and updated in forever... but now there is alot more done to the room then their was... Mike is procrastinating on the chair rail molding... and once he gets that in we can bring in the dresser from the garage... but other then that it is mostly finished... Here are the pics as of today... Cant wait to finaly get it done so i can admire my hard work... lol... I really did do alot of work on getting all this together... I did it all on my own...(the decision making)... Today mike walked in after i was working on it for awhile and said " wow... everything matches...thats so cool" lol... I was like...yah that was the idea... Hes crazy...heres the pics... taken with a better camera then the pics previously....

Room...Missing the dresser which will be on the right side...and bassinet will be in our bedroom.

His name i put alot of work into handpainting myself...

I LOVE the curtains in his room...can you believe that the valance and curtains arent made by the same company/ or came from the same place...the valance was purchased with the bedset..and the curtains where baught on pottery barn kids.

Closer up of the crib... We dont have a mattress yet...waiting for the last baby shower to see if anyone gets it first...and the bumper is inside out... didnt realize it til just now...lol.

*Still more work to be done... I bought a rug for the carpet... and the molding has to go up still... and the wall boarder that came with the bedset...going up next to the ceiling... and then the dresser... Not much more...! and time is getting close! I cant wait to see my little man in here!
