Well I went out this morning with my mom and ate some breakfast and started talking about the new baby and she said to me "are you stuck on that stupid name still?" and started laughing.. like it was a joke.. I know she doesn't like it but screw what she likes, it did hurt my feelings.. I said well mom he's my kid i'll name him what I want.. but then again i don't want him to be named something no one likes.. and really no one cares much for Nolan.. I don't see why... Brian say's "well it's going to have to grow on me" I don't know why.. it's a great name I think.. I'll have an Ethan, Brayden, and a Nolan.. I know ALL of my family likes Samuel.. I like it.. I just don't know.. I want to say screw everyone..

Most of my boys have unique names. We have a large family and there is always someone who doesn't like our choice of names. The point is if you really like the name no one will convince you to change it. At least your mom is honest. I hate it when mine is:)

when i told a few ppl that we were naming our baby girl Jordyn, i got comments like "thats a boys name" or " i thought you would pick something a little more girly since you have 2 boys". i just thought to myself that i wasnt going to tell anyone the name anymore until she is here. i hate it when ppl put in there 2 cents like that, especially when we dont ask them what they think. they just have to open their big mouths! if you feel in your heart you absolutely like the name you have chosen, then use it and dont let anyone change your mind!

My family makes fun of m lil boys name (logan Bruce) because its after wolverine and batman. Also the name I have for a little girl is being scrutinized (aliyona Alexa), MY brother is like Ali Ali-ox-in-freee!!! It makes me so mad. So I just tell them that it dosn't matter if they like it. I do, and i always have. Do what you want! Its your baby. I'm sure nobody scrutinized your name when your mother gave birth to you. She got to name you, and you should get to name your baby!

They will all get used to it, give that baby a name that YOU love, your his mom after all, your the one going through this massive change, your the one that gets the final vote! My mom hated our second's name and she hates this one's name too, she even goes as far as to make stupid suggestions like naming him Dino! as in short for dinosaur! I just ignore her and chalk it up to her being a bitch! I love her but she crosses the line, she got over it with my second and she'll get over it with this one. Really, what are the odds of your mom walking around for the rest of that kid's life saying I hate the name Nolan?? She'll get over it as soon as she sees his sweet little face.

Oh hun! Don't let it get to you. I love the name you chose. I don't know much about names but I do know that :I don't get to chose the name of my kid because our tradition has it to name babies after grandparents (ugh). I was named after my grandma (on dad's side and who I hate), full name is Georgia, my mom had no saying in it as I was the first grandchild, now this applies to me too (I'm having the first grand child for my in laws and I have to name him after my FIL whether I like or not) so I'm very happy that you get to chose a name of your liking and I'm sure baby-Nolan will love it too. So, if Nolan speaks to your heart then its the greatest name ever. If you feel him inside you as a Nolan then he is a Nolan no matter what they think.
