25-5-2009 - 29 weeks 6 days.... OkMy mood while writing this blog:
Ok

Tomorrow is 30 weeks!!! Yay! 7 1/2 months and finally down to the wire!!! Im so excited! Sydney has been more and more active lately and her kicks and punches are definately increasing intensity....All is well with me other than the usual discomforts of being pregnant...Still working although now Im only putting in 20 or so hours a week....Feeling and looking like a beached whale all the while waiting on people hand and foot is definately not my idea of fun, but hey! Its a decent job and I make decent money...All of which is being put aside for my little princess....Speaking of working Ive got a few questions/concerns for you guys to give your input on....Ive noticed that while I work Sydney stays still, I mean yesterday I put in 7 hours and didint feel her move a single time...Its definately disconcerning and it makes me worry like crazy...The moment I get home I try and lay still to see if she'll give me some sign that she is indeed ok....Just the other day I didint feel her move until 5-6ish and I had been up since 4h30am!! Do you guys think this is normal? Ive been assuming that with me being on my feet walking for hours on end just rocks her to sleep....at least Im hoping thats the case. Id hate to be putting undue stress on Sydney because Im being too active or doing too much....Another thing I wanted to mention was this weird new thing that has been happening to me....After a day at work or when Im fairly active I noticed that come evening I can barely walk...Not because my feet are sore but because my pelvis and lower back are killing me....Kinda feels like my hips have become rusty and when I do walk I waddle around like an 80 year old....It took me 5 minutes just to make it up the stairs to go to the bathroom yesterday....Have any of you experienced this?!? Am I just sore or am I somehow creating some false labour because Im just doing too much (is that even possible?) It kinda worries me because like you all I just want my baby to be safe and healthy and most definately not be born prematurely....On another note Ive noticed some odd vaginal discharges...not like the normal "snail trail" Ive had throughout my pregnancy but this looks more like snot...clear snot! Could I be prematurely losing my mucus plug?? It usually isint that much and its definately not bloody or discoloured, Im just curious as Ive never seen anything like that come outta there before....And the last thing I was hoping tto get some insight on is Braxton Hicks contractions....Is it normal that by 30 weeks I have yet to feel any?!? Sometimes I get little cramps which I attribute to having gas or being generally fatigued although I cant tell if they are indeed Braxton Hicks (I really dont think they are). I know they say that with contractions you will feel your abdomen harden up but my abdomen is already pretty much rock hard so I just cant tell...Anyways thats the jist of what has been going on with me....Im off all week till Saturday and Im definately looking forward to making some time to relax and do some stuff in the nursery...Hope all is well with you guys!!! Stay safe and keep them babies safe!

Much love.

Chantal and Sydney.

I always thought the mucus plug was bloody snot, if it is associated with stomach pain, maybe get it checked out, i wouldnt be suprised if it is as you are doing too much, and while working i am sure baby is moving, just as you are on the go you will not recognise the little flutters, by now your baby will sleep in patterns, so when off try and see when she is most active. My boy(in tum) is active mainly in the afternon, from like 9am till 3pm barely moves a lot, he is already in his sleeping pattern while in there, but if you ever do get worried you can go hospital, and they will monitor you for a while, and check baby all good, which im sure she is. The hip pain is standging for so long and carrying a baby in your belly im afraid. I get pains now and i dont walk a lot, so i oculodnt imagine walking around al day as you do, you need to take regular breaks, do not put too much pressure on your lower back and pelvis. Maybe a maternity support belt? Might lighten the load on your back, if i have gone on, i am sorry, didnt realise i had written so much x x

As far as working, my baby pretty much sleeps when I'm on my feet too. I'm told that it's kind of like a rocking chair and rocking him to sleep when I'm walking around. He usually wakes up when I'm trying to relax.

Sounds to me like its the "snot" is just discharge. It is normal. The mucous plug is a blob like a chunk of jelly. Followed by some "bloody show" which is pink or brown. It is normal to have an increase in discharge, usually white/yellow and thick, generally caused by the increased blood flow to the skin and muscles around your vagina. Its harder to notice the baby move when you in the standing position. When sitting or laying down you should be able to feel her move. I don't think you have much to worry about, but if you are, then definitely speak with your doctor. Sounds like you are experiencing the joys of pregnancy...and all of its side effects. My pelvis is hurting me too. My little girl has had her head banging on it (lol) for the last 2 weeks. Last night she was head banging it for sure. I haven't noticed any Braxton Hicks yet that I know of, and I am 35 weeks. So not to worry, we both could be having them, but don't notice it. You can still be active and not have to worry about stressing your little girl out. Unless your doctor is worried about your blood pressure and heartrate, you can continue on until you are comfortable. I still have 2 weeks of work left, which is cutting it close to baby's due date! Hope this helps.

So about the "snot" u need to talk to your dr cuz it happened to me and it was my mucuas plug but it could rebuild itself, so its not that big a deal cuz like u said ur not getting any blood. And ur pelvis that could be somthing else i forget what its called but ur dr will know or it could be that she flipped head down and its putting pressure on ur pelvis and back or maybe it sofening getting ready for birth. Some girls when that happens when all that hurts and hips they have to wear a brace so definitly talkt oy our dr. Sometimes girls dont notice when they get braxton hicks me i only started noticing them at around week 30ish they started getting really tight! Its good if u dont have to feel that!!! And ur lucky ur feet dont hurt man mine KILLL i can hardly put pressure on them. i hope evrythings safe with ur lil girl xox
