15-7-2009 - Freaked the F*** Out!!!

My mood while writing this blog: Anxious/afraid!

I had my 37 week appointment with my obstetrician this morning, the appointment went generally well. I mentioned to him about my back pain, and its more than likely a result of kidney stones. :( He said that if the pain kept up I would likely be induced....Im not sure as to when, Im assuming we will adress this at my next appointment a week from today(the 22nd) I had the GBS test done and to my surprise I got to do it myself, I was initially under the impression that he would be doing the swabs but no, they gave me the little kit and explained how to do it and I was left to my own devices. I must admit it was kind of nice, I had been worried about my doctor poking around my bum and all :P He also mentioned to me that at my ultrasound that was done at 35 weeks the technologists saw a point of concern and would like me to come back in for another ultrasound. He wasent too specific but said that they thought they had found the cause of my minor bleed (it was indeed a minor bleed, only like a toonie size mt of blood). Ive got an ultrasound scheduled for July 22nd at 8h40 and I have to go see the obstetrician immediately after. I have the requisition here and in the relevant history it says "Follow up vasa praevia- STAT report pls." I had no clue what this meant and actually assumed it had something to do with my bladder :S I got home and immediately checked online cause well Im quite the curious type. What I found bothered me BIG TIME!!! Needless to say Im a wreck now, I dont know what to think. Do I have this condition, I mean he put it in my relevant history and requested a the report immediately and wants me to come in right after the U/S. Im just so confused/worried and upset about this :S I wish I had gotten some clarification :(
