My mood while writing this blog: Ok

1. WAS YOUR FIRST PREGNANCY PLANNED? Yes it was!

2. WERE YOU MARRIED AT THE TIME? Nope, but I was enagaged....

3. WHAT WAS YOUR REACTION? Insanely excited!! Relieved that we were able to cenceive after almost 6 months of trying...

4. WAS ABORTION AN OPTION FOR YOU? Never!

5. HOW OLD WERE YOU? 22 going on 23

6. HOW DID YOU FIND OUT YOU WERE PREGNANT? I was just getting over a kidney infection when I started to feel under the weather again, I was urinating more frequently so I thought I might betting a bladder infection. Went to the clinic and turns out my bladder was a-okay, I was just preggers!

7. WHO DID YOU TELL FIRST? Mike, of course!!!

8. DID YOU WANT TO FIND OUT THE SEX? Oh god! Did I ever!!! I wanted to start buying stuff and me and Mike wanted to start discussing names.

9. DUE DATE? August 4th 2009

10. DID YOU HAVE MORNING SICKNESS? For the first 5 months-ish!

11. WHAT DID YOU CRAVE? Cadburry mini eggs, stuffed mushroom caps, DQ sundaes, coffee (which I could not have because it gave me insane heartburn!)

12. WHO/WHAT IRRITATED YOU THE MOST? I must admit that Mike irriatted me probably the most! He was a great sport the entire pregnancy, he did chores, rubbed my feet and back and picked me up fast food whenever I asked for it, but he was the person I spent the most time with so he was bound to get the brunt of my irritability!

13. WHAT WAS YOUR FIRST CHILD'S SEX? Girl

14. DID YOU WISH YOU HAD THE OPPOSITE SEX OF WHAT YOU WERE GETTING? At first I was convinced I would be having a boy and I was really excited by the idea of having a rough and tumble little man, before we found out the sexe I referred to the baby as him or he! When I found out it was a girl, I was insanely elated and realised that regardless of the gender I was happy to have a healthy baby! Plus, I got to buy cute pink stuff!

15. HOW MANY POUNDS DID YOU GAIN THROUGHOUT THE PREGNANCY? Just about 65 lbs!

16. DID YOU HAVE A BABY SHOWER? Indeed I did and it was great!

17. DID YOU HAVE ANY COMPLICATIONS DURING YOUR PREGNANCY? Yes, I had renal stones, they thought I had vasa praevia (insanely scary!), By the 36th week Sydney was measuring in the 10th percentile for growth, and when I went in for my induction it was noticed that I had developed hypertension....

18. WHERE DID YOU GIVE BIRTH? Th civic hospital in Ottawa

19. HOW MANY HOURS WERE YOU IN LABOR? I had her exactly 24 from the time they put in the cervadil. 12 hours from the time they removed the cervadil and 10 hours from the time they broke my water!

20. WHO DROVE YOU TO THE HOSPITAL? My mom! It was a ride that was filled with excitement and nervousness (on my part) since I was going in for an induction and was given litterally 2 hours noticed before I was to be at the hospital.

21. WHO WATCHED YOU GIVE BIRTH? Mike, my mother and his mother (she videotaped the entire birth from front row centre)

22. WAS IT NATURAL OR C-SECTION? Vaginal so I guess thats "natural"

23. DID YOU TAKE MEDICINE TO EASE THE PAIN? I had 2 shots of nubaine. One for mild contractions I was having while the cervadil was still in me. The other I had when I was 5cm dilated and the pitocin had to be turned up yet again. At about 6 1/2 cm I had the epidural once again because they were going to be turning up my pitocin once again and I was afraid I wouldnt be able to handle the contractions it would cause. ( I had a resident do my epidural it took him 3 attempts and almost one hour! :|)

24. HOW MUCH DID YOUR CHILD WEIGH? 6lbs 4oz

25. WHEN WAS YOUR CHILD ACTUALLY BORN? 27/07/2009 18h50pm
