OK up untill about a week ago i planned on having jacob sleep in a bassinet next to my bed in my room
but now that his nursery is all ready and his crib is looking all cozy im thinking maybe it would be ok if he slept in the crib .. because i dont want him to get to used to sleeping with me !!! on one hand i feel kinda bad like aww he'll be all alone and like im abusing him if i dont have him sleep in my room
the crib is really big and wont fit in my room other wise i would just put the crib in my room . i got these baby moniters so i will be able to hear him if he cries and jump right up and feed him hmmm i just dont know what to do i have sooo much stuff and have recieved so much stuff i kinda dont want to go out and buy a bassinet thats like another 80 - 100 dollars and even though its no big deal im just like going back and forth on this subject . i'm pretty set on having him sleep in his crib its not like i wont cuddle him all day when he is awake i just dont want him to get to used to mommies bed and i just think i have a crib so i should use it!! let me know your thoughts ladies cuz im confused on what to do and i feel bad for not wanting him in my room with me .... oy vey!!!

Don't feel bad, that is silly, that is why they make nurserys and cribs. Anyway, I was all set to have my daughter sleep in my room (8 years ago) in her bassinet, but she wouldn't. She could not sleep in my room for some reason, so at two weeks she was in her crib in her own room. I think it was more sad for me than for her, she liked it there.......Don't worry now, she is constantly trying to sneak into bed with me and my husband :o) Oh, goodie!

I brought a bassinett at a consignment store for $20. It is type with basket non bottom. Will use during nite and during day his crib.

The first 3 months I kept my baby right next to me in the bassinet :) Helped me sleep better anyways lol

I kept telling everyone not to buy a bassinet because Adrianna would be sleeping in her room. My mother-in-law bought one anyway and I am so glad she did because the 1st night I put her in her crib, I cried and took her right back out!!!!!! She wakes up every hour between 2am and 7am so it will be a while before I put her in a crib. Maybe you can find a cheap one somewhere (my mom got ours second hand). Peace

I kept my girls in the pack n play's next to my bed for a while before switching them to a crib. I wouldn't leave (even with monitors) a newborn in a separate room while it's night time, it's safer to have them in your room in the beginning. :) Whatever you decide to do though I am sure you'll be ok!

It wont hurt if you'd rather have him sleeping in the big cot in his nursery. Especialy as you have moniters do you'd still be able to hear him the second he starts crying.
We're having our little girl in with us for the first few months...we already have a moses basket set up in our bedroom. But I also have the cot set up and ready in what will be her bedroom and I'm going to use that for naps in the daytime so that she gets used to being in there alone to sleep and I'll hopefully have less tears when the time come to make the transition from my room to her own room...

instead of a bassinet that will quickly get grown out of, for 99-150 bucks you can get a pack and play crib, its like a portable crib with a bassinet and a changing table all on it. that way when baby outgrows the bassinet part you still have a jazzy crib you can take anywhere. Theyre super affordable at Target and at Walmart :) I even got mine to match my carseat and stroller :) But you're gonna want baby in your room for now, i can almost bet on it!

I'm a first time mom so I can see myself being super overprotective. I will probably put the baby in the crib and sleep on the day bed in the nursery. That way the baby could get used to sleeping in the crib and I can still keep a close eye on him or her.

girl i personally would not leave the baby in another room !!! way to scary youcant here if they are choking or even crying trust me,.. i was at the mall today and Amani was screaming and i honeslty could not hear her there voices are so low and just a little noise in yhour house you may not here his crys i really dont know when Amani will sleep in her room... but it is way to scary for me right now to leave her in another room

My lil Isabelle will sleep in a bassinet for at least 6weeks, in mine and my husband's room.Because we do not have a crib for her yet we will be moving about 6 weeks after she is born and she will have her own room then.And we will get her, her own crib and her brother a new big boy bed.My son did sleep in his bassinet for about 3 1/2mnoths before sleeping in his crib.

i will have my baby sleep in a bassinet in our room for the first 2 months.. the bassinet that i got was $48, she also has a crib in her room, but i figured since i am a 1st time mom and this is all new to me. that would just make me feel more comfortable.. after 2 months i plan to move her to her crib... but every1 is diff in the things they do..

our son sleep in a bassenette next to my bedside for about 3-4 months. he was too tiny for a crib. he was 6wks early and a 4lbs baby looked like a mirco-spect in a crib. i don't think it is that big of a deal to have your baby next to you in your bedroom, but i dont think i wanted to let him out of my sight!. but every baby is different, and i am sure whatever you chose will be the right choice for you and your lil one!

If you have a comfy chair in the nursery you'll be fine, you'll probably end up sleeping in it haha but its good to start them early in the cot, that way they'll be able to sleep alone and still feel safe! Our house was a studio so Bonnie slept with us as we just didnt have the room, was easy but then you start to wake up when they make the slightest noise! Bonnie transitioned well to her own bed and sleeps through the night no worries! But I agree with you, they only use it for 4 months MAX cos they get too big!

I've been thinking about that too...I'll probably alternate between his sleeper in my room and his crib....then again he may be in this big ass bed with me...especially if I am succesful with breast feeding....but I wouldn't spend the extra....don't feel bad if u put him in crib at night...u could rotate

honestly i wouldn't waste your money on the bassinet...most babies don't like them anyway! the only convenient thing about a bassinet is having them right there in the room with you and in the beginning they wake up so often that it's a little easier...but unless the nursery is on another wing of the house it's not really that bad haha! if i wasn't going to be borrowing a bassinet i would have put jason right in his crib too...i think my daughter slept in it for like 5 weeks if that...and that was cause my hubby was soooo nervous to not have her in the room lol!

Im gonna have Mackenzie sleep in a bassinet next to me for about two weeks then off to her crib she will go. I know I will be checking on her so much but maybe it will be better just in the crib. Hers looks very cozy too!
