06-6-2009 - WHEN and WHAT to pack in the HOSPITAL BAG

My mood while writing this blog:

OK so im 34 weeks and 2 days and i dont know when to pack my hospital bag im thinking i should do it pretty soon here ..... but who knows
AND then what the hell am i supposed to pack the only thing i can think of is a camera and some baby clothes for when he comes home
let me know ladies !!!!

Oh man. I have my diaper bag packed for the hospital but didnt even think about bringing things for me. lol

Hey, I got a list of what I need from my midwife. Here's what's on it;

For you
*Old nightie or tee shirt for labour
*Music tapes or CDs to listen to whilst in labour
*Towel
*Toiletries
*Money for phone
*Book or magazines
*Slippers and dressing gown
*Front opening nightie for after delivery
*Breast pads
*Nursing bras
*Disposable or old pants
*Maternity pads
*Sweets, snacks and drinks
*Comfortable clothes to wear home

For baby
*Nappies
*About 3 vests and baby grows
*Going home outfit and shawl
*Car seat

Bring a pillow too and something to snack on. I was packing my bag in between my active labor contractions like a dummy!!! Its a great idea to get it done now.

I over packed...the only things I needed was onesis I changed him like twice a day and still do, I like to keep him fresh smelling. socks the hosipital was so cold. Take home outfit you and him. make your outfit is not form fitting i still looked 6 months prego. you also need chap stick, lotion, soap, deoderant. make sure your hair is done before that is a must!!! Pack anything else you feel you need it won't hurt even if you don't use them. the hos will provide diapers but bring some for the ride home.whipes also for the ride home. oh and a pacifier if you are going to use one. hope i helped good luck!!!

I over packed when i went. So here's some things that I actually used when I was there...An outfit for me the day after and going home(somthing comfy) obviously toiletries. I brought my laptop. Cell charger. Comfy socks. Camera an extra batteries. An for baby.A going home outfit an if want him in his own clothes during his stay. I was given pads an disposable undies which were extremely comfy. Hope this helps. =) Oh an pack soon. Better to be ready then not.

my hospital doesnt provide much.
ive sort of packed, got his nappies and wipes and stuff, sleepsuits, bodysuits, and a going home outfit to make him look super duper cute ^.^
ive got my clothes, nighty fr labour, pyjamas fr after, and comfy stuff for going home, then you need your toiletries and things, ive been told take underwear u can just throw out.
Also your camera and a watch and then maybe stuff to do, like a magazine, especially if you have a slow labour.
oh and SOCKSSS! apparently your feeet get reallly coldd.

This is my problem lol. I would pack it soon though since you don't have much longer. Make sure to pack bath stuff since you should be able to get a shower afterwards and toothbrush and stuff like that. Oh, and don't forget clothes for you to come home in and maybe some comfy clothes while you're there. I'm taking my make up with me so I won't look too too horrible in the pictures lol. Can't really think of anything else =] Hope this helped some.

I packed babys outfit for going home --they suggested onsie, booties/socks, and a receiving blanket/blanket, and a hat. I also packed pads, toothpaste, travel size shampoo conditioner, and body wash, breast pads, pajamas for myself, and a going home outfit for myself....and the papers they told me to bring. Hope that gives you an idea:)

I dont have mine packed either! Im gonna be 35 weeks tomorrow. But I heard you should take: nursing pad, nipple cream, nursing bra, nightgown, robe, slippers, chapstick, shampoo, body wash, toothpaste, toothbrush. A bunch of stuff but Im just gonna bring minimum cuz the hospital will provide everything! Even diapers and stuff
