11-6-2009 - 35 week hospital scare

My mood while writing this blog:
i was hysterical !!!

so wednesday night around 7 i realized that my lil jacob hadnt really moved all day and at first i was like well i guess i been sleeping all day maybe its nothing so i ate some food and watched tv and layed down again and to my surprise my lil jacob still didnt move which was not normal because when i lay down my lil jacob always gets to moving around and usually after i eat he will sqirm about as well. so i sat and thought wow whats wrong with him maybe i should call the first nurse . so i called she instruted me to shake my belly up and down and side to side to wake jacob up and if he doesnt move at least 4 times in an hour i should call back or head in to L and D so i did what she said and i shook really really hard lil jacob still didnt budge and when i say i shook him i mean i was shaking him hard he should at least kicked me at that moment i realised oh no somethings wrong and tears just came running down my face i called my friend to come to the hospital with me because i wasnt gonna wait another minute to not feel him kick !!! then the first nurse called me back and informed me not to wait and that i needed to come in right away and that she was gonna page my dr so i was hysterical by this point because all i could think of was my baby is dead my baby is dead oh no oh no!!! so then my dr calls me as im getting into the car and i tell her whats going on and she says come in right away which made me more nervous !!! so anyway i get to L and D and the hook me up to the belts so that they can moniter his heart rate it was such a relief because right as she put the moniter on there was baby jacob's heart beat and i was happy because it was way down by my crotch so i knew he was upside down it was the best sound in the world !! the nurse told me that they would watch for acceleration and movements to make sure he is not in distress then my dr came in and said i will be on the moniters for about 20-30 minutes and if everything goes well i can go home well his heart rate was 140 something the whole time and it accelerated well so after about 45 miniutes in the observation room the nurse unhooked me and guess what i had 1 contraction lol i was like oh my lol but baby jacob is fine she told me that baby is just getting so big and that alot of his movement i will no longer feel because he doesnt have much room to move about which made me laugh and she said sometimes baby's just have sleepy days just like me and you and that today was just a sleepy day for jacob awww
well today is thursday ( well it was haha) and he moved all day long and it felt good and i know my little boy is healthy and doing just fine!!! so thats my story it was crazy and scary but im glad everything is fine and i love my dr and the hospital i go to because everyone is soo nice and the rooms are amazing and i cant wait to have my baby because i know me and my little one will be treated very well

So glad to hear everything is ok with you and baby jacob. I could imagine you were hysterical because sometimes I sit and think to myself, did I feel her move today? And I too have gotten scared cause I couldn't remember. What a relief to hear that heart beat though and to know all is well.

The other night i was laying in bed wide awake for 2 hours, so for the first hour i tried getting my baby to move and she wouldnt. i was starting to freak out! then finally, she kicked lightly. I told the dr about it at my 35 week appt this past week, and they did the nonstress test. she was fine also. they told me that next time if i havent felt her move, then to drink really, really cold water. i will try that next time!

Wow! what an experience glad to hear that your lil one is ok! I can only imagine how freaked out you were! He's going to be here before you know it, isn't it exciting!:-)

Glad you and little Jacob are okay...I know that was a scary moment...well a sleepy moment for him...and just a few more weeks to go before you can watch those sleepy moments

so glad everything's ok! I had the same scare about a month ago and I rushed to L&D the same way, my nails were bitten down so bad. I know how you felt, and I'm so glad everything's good and your baby just had a sleepy day.

Its so scary when these things happen and SUCH a relief when everythings alright isnt it?
Im so pleased youre ok, even if the fright might turn you grey overnight lol
5 weeks tops til your baby boy is safe in your arms...youre so close....well done mommy ;) xx
