My grandmothers middle name is Cheyne, my husband picked Harper. Now he says we cannot discuss it until she's born cuz I am likely to change my mind!! He knows me too well

Friday, 28 Nov I like it! We are honing in on some names too, how many more times will we change our minds? LOL. I had a Bernese Mountain dog too, sadly he passed away last summer. My parents used to breed and still have four. I loved my big goofy cuddle bug!! marley76 -
Friday, 28 Nov I love Harper! So far, we have decided on Taylor Mary or Taylor Madison but things can change. Harper is a great name. larkspur69 -
Friday, 28 Nov Less than traditional I know..... but this is what the U.S. census says:
Harper is a very rare female first name and a very popular surname (source: 1990 U.S. Census).
My husband LOVES "To Kill a Mockingbird" and even strongly suggested "Scout" as a girls name!! Instead, he's now thrilled with Harper....as in "Harper Lee" the FEMALE author if this famous book! Debra -
Thursday, 27 Nov I like Cheyne as a name. but i'm a traditionalist when it comes to names- so when i see the name harper- i think Harper= Stephen Harper. Or harpist or to harp on something. What does the name actually mean? i guess i don't get the whole fad right now about picking a name that's different- like apple or sunday. I named my boy Isaac, which means "laughter" I liked it because it was such a strong name. I was also teased a lot growing up- not about my name, but i know how cruel kids can be. I wanted to give my son a name that would be strong and simple. But that's just me :) I hope you enjoy the name you chose! How are you feeling otherwise?
