1. WAS YOUR FIRST PREGNANCY PLANNED? Yes
2. WERE YOU MARRIED AT THE TIME? Yes
3. WHAT WAS YOUR REACTION? Surprised, I had tested twice before going to the dr. for a blood test.
4. WAS ABORTION AN OPTION FOR YOU? Never
5. HOW OLD WERE YOU? 20
6. HOW DID YOU FIND OUT YOU WERE PREGNANT? I went to NAVCARE (military urgent care) and they did a blood test. The nurse called us both back- so we knew something was up- and told us the news.
7. WHO DID YOU TELL FIRST? We called my parents then his mom.
8. DID YOU WANT TO FIND OUT THE SEX? Yes! We both really wanted a boy and he was very cooperative during the ultrasound.
9. DUE DATE? January 22
10. DID YOU HAVE MORNING SICKNESS? No
11. WHAT DID YOU CRAVE? Nothing that I remember
12. WHO/WHAT IRRITATED YOU THE MOST? My husband planning hunting trips in the woods in the weeks before I delivered- this was before cell phones so I had the number to the ranger station on the fridge.
13. WHAT WAS YOUR FIRST CHILD'S SEX? Male
14. DID YOU WISH YOU HAD THE OPPOSITE SEX OF WHAT YOU WERE GETTING? No
15. HOW MANY POUNDS DID YOU GAIN THROUGHOUT THE PREGNANCY? 25 and lost all but 3 during delivery (the wonders of a young body!)
16. DID YOU HAVE A BABY SHOWER? No but a military wives club sent over a huge care package and it was wonderful!
17. WAS IT A SURPRISE OR DID YOU KNOW?
18. DID YOU HAVE ANY COMPLICATIONS DURING YOUR PREGNANCY? Placenta previa that corrected itself
19. WHERE DID YOU GIVE BIRTH? Jacksonville Birthing Center, Jacksonville, NC
20. HOW MANY HOURS WERE YOU IN LABOR? They broke my water at 10:30am and he was born at 2:50pm- 4 hrs and 20 minutes for a first time mom- my second labors two were MUCH longer.
21. WHO DROVE YOU TO THE HOSPITAL? My husband
22. WHO WATCHED YOU GIVE BIRTH? My mom and husband
23. WAS IT NATURAL OR C-SECTION? natural
24. DID YOU TAKE MEDICINE TO EASE THE PAIN? demerol but it was too late, I was ready to deliver before it really kicked in
27. HOW MUCH DID YOUR CHILD WEIGH? 10lb 2oz (surprise of the day!)
28. WHEN WAS YOUR CHILD ACTUALLY BORN? February 6, 1991
30. WHAT DID YOU NAME HIM/HER? Thomas Joel- we call him Joel
31. HOW OLD IS YOUR FIRST BORN TODAY? 18 years old!! And he is the most wonderful son I could have hoped for!!

2 weeks overdue no wonder he was so big!! l0l. Jack was 11 days overdue when I got induced and he was 9 11

aahhh how sweet!!! I love the name Thomas! I can't believe you had a 10lb baby with no pain relief!! Were the other 2 as big???
