28-4-2008 - First baby update in forEVER!

I don't even know where to begin. I've definitely been neglecting this site. That's life with 2 kids, huh? Speaking of 2 kids. I would have never imagined it would be this easy...or fun! I love Brendan even more now that he's a big brother and I'm just amazed that I can love another child as much. Haley is an amazing baby. She's so bright and full of personality. She's definitely a Mama's Girl. I'm breastfeeding (quite successfully in fact) and she won't take a pacifier or bottle. She wants me ALL the time. I don't mind it so much...just when I need to pee or when I'm trying to cook. LOL. She's 2 months old. She smiles and is starting to giggle. She's so strong too! She holds her head up. Pushes up on her arms. Believe it or not she's actually trying to sit herself up. She'll grab my hands and pull herself upright. If I let go she can balance that way for a good 10 seconds before tipping over! I can lay her on her tummy at one end of the rug and within minutes she's at the other end (just wiggles her way down). Brendan developed pretty much on schedule, but she just seems to be flying past all the milestones. I guess that's a good thing, but I really wanted to cherish every moment of her being little. She's obviously got other plans! She's also getting very big. She was 6lbs at birth and 2 months later she weighs 11lbs 4oz. She's also gone from 17.5 inches to 21.5!! 4 inches in 2 months! She looks HUGE to me! I call her my Chunky Monkey. I don't think she minds. =) She's also sleeping through the night...has been for a few weeks. She goes down for the night around 9pm. She gets up around 5 to poop and eat and then goes right back down for around 3 hours. I forgot what it was like to sleep! She only takes 1 nap during the day. A good 3 hour nap plus two catnaps. One in the early morning and one around dinner time. She times them pretty well.

As for Brendan. He is the best big brother EVER! He's so good with Haley. He sings to her and tickles her. He tries to comfort her when she cries. He puts the poopy diapers in the diaper genie. Pretty much anything I ask him to do he does. He's matured in so many other ways since her birth too. I think having a baby sister is the best thing that could have happened to him. He's already asking for another baby. A boy this time. LOL. I told him we'll what happens.

That's pretty much all I have for right now. I need to shower before Haley wakes up. She's on her third cold (the only downside so far...that's what happens when you've got a brother in pre-school...germ city) and she's been asleep for almost 5 hours. Hopefully she'll sleep this one off! I'll try to post regularly to keep everone updated!
