10-11-2010 - Weeks 19-22 BIRTHDAY PARTIES

Okay ladies so it’s been awhile since my last blog (17-18) 18 weeks seems like forever ago! Even though it’s only been 5 weeks ago! LOL, well I am good. I am now 23 weeks pregnant and feeling great! I do get headaches and pelvic pain most days but nothing I can’t handle. I’m tough =) So I’m going to do a generic update but there has been so much that has happened that I will only talk about the highlights.

Week 19 (Oct. 12^th 2010) was a hard week. On the 12^th during Gus’s 1^st year checkup we found out that he had an ear infection =( Our nights were spent awake taking care of Gus and this week me and Mike were fighting a bunch due to our lack of sleep. It was not very fun. Ruben and Grandma were also being kept up late due to Gus crying a bunch but they were in good spirits about it. On Saturday the 16^th it was my brother Edmund’s 22^nd birthday. We all went to my brother Fernie’s house for dinner. It was a lot of fun. My brother Fernie lives so far away but totally worth the drive. Ruben’s 11^th birthday was on Monday Oct. 18^th 2010. It was a bad! I was so tired from not sleeping so I missed school but decided to go to the grocery store to pick up cupcakes for Ruben’s class, which I do each year, but at the grocery store I lost my wallet. I immediately blamed Mike because he was pushing the cart and I thought he had been leaving the cart with Gus in it all over the place. It was totally not true but I just wanted to blame someone other than myself. Needless to say I left my purse in the car and left my wallet on the cupcake display case and someone picked it up between the time we walked away and noticed it was gone. I cried all afternoon! I had had enough! We had plans to go to Red Robin that night with my entire family but cancelled because all of the bad afternoon. I wanted to lie in bed and cry all night but my sister wouldn’t allow me to ruin Ruben’s birthday. Her family, my mom, and my brother Edmund all came over with McDonalds (Ruben wanted a hamburger) and cake and ice-cream and we had him a little birthday dinner here at my house. I love my family! On a side note, the manager of Kingsoopers called me around 9pm saying that a worker had found my wallet in the parking lot! Everything was in it but I had already cancelled everything by that time which caused some problems the next weeks but I was happy that it was returned. The next day after Ruben’s birthday Mike took Ruben to the store and bought him a bike and the Xbox game Halo. Ruben is so happy!

Week 20 (Oct. 19^th 2010) Mike’s birthday was on Wednesday October 20^th. We had planned on going out on a date but Mike felt bad leaving Grandma and the kids behind so we ended up having dinner at home. I made him taco’s which is one of Mike’s favorite meals. We had a great time as a family and took lots of pictures. Melody, my sister, invited us over for sundaes and pumpkin pie. My mom bought Mike some pjs and he has not taken them off since =) On Saturday the 23^rd my entire family did end up going to Red Robin to celebrate Gus’s, Edmund’s, Ruben’s, and Mike’s birthday! It was lots of fun seeing all them Red Robin workers sing for four of my favorite guys!

Week 21 (Oct 26^th 2010) Two great things happened this week! My 20 week ultrasound was Tuesday October 26^th at 8:30 am. Mike worked late so and Mel I went to my appointment. I was disappointed that Mike was not able to come but I didn’t want to wake him up besides Gus and Mike looked so cute cuddled up together. Everything looked well with the ultrasound baby is 8.7 ounces and is measuring fine. I made Mel promise not to look when the technician got to the goods and she reluctantly agreed. Baby looks great and I really don’t care what we have as long as he/she is healthy. The other great thing that happened this week was that this weekend was Halloween weekend =) we had Ruben and Gus’s Halloween Costume Birthday Party! It was a great day! Everyone showed up and the kids had a great time. Ruben got lots of money and Gus got so many cloths. Mike did a great job! He bought the boys the coolest toys ever! Ruben got Halo legos which he loves and Gus got his 1^st cell phone J after the party everyone went trick or treating. Gus slept through all 4 (His, Ruben’s, Mike’s and the birthday party) birthday songs ;-) Good times with great family and friends!

Week 22 (Nov. 2^nd 2010) Phew!!! All the birthday parties are done!!! It was a fun and busy October 2010! This week has been pretty laid back. Not much new going on. Gus got over his ear infection but now has a cough. Will it ever end?!? Lol, Grandma is doing well and is so helpful with Gus. I go to school every day 5 days a week now to study on Tuesdays and Thursdays even though I am not in class and my grandma watches Gus if Mike worked late the night before. This week he has worked 7 days straight! Ruben is doing well. I had a teacher parent conference this week and Ruben had turned in all of his homework assignments this year. Except the one day that he missed. Gus is no longer crawling; he is a full time walker now! He is learning how to play with his toys instead of just throwing them around and he is becoming so much fun to play with. Ruben rides his bike to school every day now and is such a great big brother! I love my family. I don’t know what I would do without Mike, Grandma, Ruben, and Gus! I am the luckiest woman alive! Oh and me and Mel have lunch together every Tuesday and Thursday =)
