| 02-1-2009 - 16 Weeks Old! | My mood while writing this blog:In love |
Figured I would update on my status as a mom. I had Wyatt on September 8, 2008 3 weeks early. I was on this website every single day right from the beginning of my pregnancy (Don't worry I was still productive at work - I am a very fast typer and an amazing multi-tasker even 9 months pregnant!). Now I am back to work and of course back to this website. I figure it was a LIFESAVER while I was pregnant and it is just as useful now. In all the weeks I have known him, my son has definitely become my best friend, right up there with my husband. He makes me laugh, and cry sometimes but in the good way. Every single day is something new.
I am exclusively breastfeeding and although it was incredibly hard at first (people are not kidding when they warn you!) we have overcome most hardships and now it is a piece of cake! Of course there are the days and nights when I am so exhausted I basically stumble into his room and feed him while I am still sleeping, but I cant regret any time I spend with him. I have an hour and a half commute so I leave my house at 6:30 and get home at 6:30pm. Thats a lot of pumping during the day! I am proud to say it has definitely been working for us! I stayed home for 3 months, then my husband took a month off and now with the new year, it is about time to get back to reality. Wyatt will be starting daycare on Monday and it is bittersweet for me. On the one hand, he will be close so that means I get to feed him there in the morning and then see him on my lunch hour and then pick him up at 5. My husband and I commute together so our whole family will have more time together, even if it is in the car.
Wyatt is growing so fast. He rolls over (although he doesnt have a clue what to do once he gets there). He just recently started giggling. He cracks up when we do "super baby" or blow or fan his face. He is a great sleeper (except naptime we usually struggle) - but yay for long nights! All the hardships we go through it just melts my heart when he smiles. My life is so different now as a mother. There are some things that affect me sooo much more then they ever did before. I cant watch the news anymore because just thinking about kidnapped or missing children absolutely breaks my heart. I cant imagine life without my son. Its true, you never know what your life was missing until you have a child..
