My mood while writing this blog: Relieved |
I just wanted to give everyone this advice... From the beginning I have tried to be as organized as possible due to this new little baby that now runs our life (not quite so new anymore he is 7 months old). Anyway one of my things that I have always done is have 2 diaper bags. One we use everyday and is constantly being updated whenever we go out. The other I considered our emergency diaperbag and it is ALWAYS stocked with an extra onesie, outfit, socks, diapers, wipes, a toy, pacifier, etc... We only use this one if we need to run out in a hurry and dont have time or dont feel like packing the "real" one, but I try not to use it. We keep it next to the carseat and there it remains. If you read my previous blog you know the emergency we had when 911 had to be called. Wyatt's fever was so high the paramedics took him with nothing on except a thick blanket and a diaper. They were very quick and my husband was holding strong but definitely wasnt thinking straight. On the way out the door the Paramedics asked if he needed to bring a bag or anything. Chris was still flustered so he looked around and grabbed the first bag he saw (the emergency bag). I was coming from work and didnt even have a car since I had to be driven and Chris didnt have a car because of the ambulance so we had nothing on us and no family in the area. Luckily he grabbed the right bag. You never know what can happen or where or when it will happen so it is always good to be prepared! We were at the hospital for 8 hours and without that pacifier and toy it would have been very tough. We wouldnt have even had an outfit or a diaper to put him in! It felt very good to be prepared so my word of advice is... you cant predict everything, but to have something as simple as a packed diaper bag can be a lifesaver in stressful situations such as these!
