02-4-2008 - 8 Weeks

Well I finally got my 4th ultrasound at exactly 8 weeks. I'm so relieved to see the baby's heartbeat and know that everything is ok. I found out I was pregnant on January 20th and I because I was having some cramping and bleeding, the OB scheduled me in for January 24th and they did my 1st ultrasound at 4 weeks and 3 days. Obviously thats a little too early to see anything in the uterus, but they saw an area on my left ovary and they began to think it might be an ectopic pregnancy. So I spent that day at an imaging center and after the radiologist looked over my scans, I left without a yes or no. So they sceduled an ultrasound for 5 days later and monitered my blood levels, which were elavating as they should. My second ultrasound at 5 weeks and 1 day was on January 29. We saw the yolk sac in the uterus where it was supposed to be! Yay! But we couldn't see much of a heartbeat, so they scheduled another ultrasound for 1 week later. At this appointment on February 5, we were able to see a little bit more but not much. So they scheduled another ultrasound for 2 weeks later. On February 18, at exactly 8 weeks pregnant, We finally got to see a strong heartbeat and more of the baby. Everything is normal and there is absolutely no ectopic pregnancy. I'm so blessed and so thankful. I came across the intelligender test in a magazine and I'm thinking about ordering it. I know it's probably not reliable, but I think it'd be fun. I don't really care if I get a boy or a girl, I just want a healthy baby regardless.
