My mood while writing this blog: Ok

Hi! My name is Kristin and I am pregnant with my second child. I had a miscarriage last year, but it was before I missed my period, so I didn't even know I was pregnant. Now that I know, I'm doing everything I can to prevent that from happening again.

This pregnancy wasn't planned so I'm feeling a lot of mixed emotions right now. I'm truly excited though so that outweighs all the fears I'm having.

My boyfriend is very excited! I'm glad he's happy and ready for this. It's making it much easier for me.

As of 9-8 I am experiencing a lot of cramping, but no other symptoms. Drinking about a gallon of water a day has truly helped though. The cramps seems worse in the middle of the night.

I'm ready and willing to learn everything I need to know to help me through this process. I've only told my dad and he's not too supportive, so I'm seeking support online.

Update 9-9: I can now officially add nausea to the list of symptoms. I woke up last night feeling "sea sick"! That was crazy!!

Update 9-18: Now my dad is really excited about being a grandfather. He calls me multiple times a day to make sure I'm ok and eating right. He has even made a list of things he's going to buy for the baby. He honestly believes it's a girl. We shall see! I'm glad he's come around. Next hurdle... telling my mom!

Update 9-23: I have finally found an explaination for what I've been feeling. Some days, along with my cramps I would have a shooting pain in my lower back and legs. It would get so bad that if I was driving I would have to pull off the road because I couldn't use my legs. The only relief was walking around. Week 8 has this exact thing listed as sciatic nerve pain. I'm so glad I finally know what it is.

When did you find out? 3 days after I missed my period. It was due August 25th, but never came. I had a feeling though about a week before.

Where did you find out? In my bathroom by taking a home pregnancy test. The doctor confirmed it a few days later with a blood test.

What was your reaction? Scared, excited, and in disbelief

How did you tell the father? He knew I was going to buy the test. He told me to call/text him when I got the results. I sent the text.

What was his reaction? His first response was, "WOW." His next reaction was happiness.

How do you think family and friends will feel? I really don't know. Disappointed that I'm 20 and pregnant, but excited at the same time. I'm dreading telling people. My dad knows and his first reaction was that I should have an abortion. I won't tell anyone else until December.

His reaction::	He was shocked, but excited at first. I don't know how he feels now, since he never talks about it.
Greatest memory so far::	The first time I recognized a kick and seeing the baby on the ultrasound.
Biggest fear::	That I might do something to hurt the baby, unintentionally of course.
Strange symptoms::	Heart palpatations and dizzy spells.
Advantages of being pregnant::	Eating as much as I want, and no one having a problem with it!
Weird dreams::	Not weird, just unexpected- sexual dreams involving my ex.
Emotional outbursts::	I go off on people very easily now. The father would get screamed at almost daily when we talked.
Breast changes::	None. They felt huge in the beginning, but it's back to normal now.
Waist changes::	Just a little bigger, but all of my pants still fit.
Things you quit for baby::	Drinking Smirnoff and being around 2nd hand smoke.
Most uncomfortable time::	The beginning when I had sciatic nerve pain, and round ligament pain daily.
Worst part of being pregnant::	Getting fat. lol j/k. Um, maybe stretchmarks.
Best place for maternity clothes::	I don't know. I haven't bought any. Motherhood Maternity has good stuff though.
Taking parenting classes::	Absolutely! I need all the help I can get.
Pregnancy necessities::	A bottle of water, lotion and chap stick. I'm always thirsty and my skin seems really dry now.
Grandparents reaction::	My dad took a minute to calm down, but he's now happy. My mom's been excited almost since she found out.
Aunts? Uncles?::	Extremely excited!!!
Godparents::	The Godmother is very excited!! She just had a baby in Jan 08 and I'm her son's Godmother so now she gets to do it.
