My mood while writing this blog: Hot |
STATS:
Weight: 142 lbs (3.5 lbs gained since last appt)
BP: 120/72
FHR: 140ish
FH: OK
They measure due dates with a range so my range has been May 5- May 8. Today they said I am more likely to deliver on the 8th or later (based off my FH) so they adjusted my due date. I'm going to keep it at May 5 though.
Kaydence is already head down, but that could obviously change before I deliver.
I turned in my papers for my FMLA today. The lady kept saying that they will only approve 6 weeks off of work, not 12. I got a 2nd job so I could take 12 weeks off of my full-time job, but now it looks like I won't be able to. I hope she was wrong though. The FMLA website, and my employee handbook says I'm allowed 12 weeks, so I don't understand why the doctor's office won't approve that.
I plan on starting my leave on April 24 and coming back 12 weeks later. Do you think that's a good date? I originally planned on working until I went into labor, but I'm tired of work so I decided to give myself an extra week off. I hope she doesn't end up being 2 weeks late and I lose 3 weeks of my leave just sitting around. Maybe I should adjust that to May 1, so I only end up losing 2 weeks at the most... Gosh, this would be so much easier if I knew the exact date that she's coming!!

Tuesday, 24 Mar Hey you should be able to take your 12 weeks w/FMLA...the doctor's office will only say that you have to be off for 6 weeks, but FMLA w/your job allows you take the additional weeks and still have a job when you return. You'll probably only get paid for the 6 weeks and the other weeks will be time off w/out pay but FMLA just protects your job. I would probably wait to leave work if you want to spend more time w/your baby b/c you don't know when she might arrive ~Pretty-Pink86~ -
Wednesday, 18 Mar im glad to hear the baby and you are doing well, i have my apmt in 2 weeks. RileyJaydensMom -
Wednesday, 18 Mar yeah. I too am working up to the last minute. My due date is May 4th and I put in my FMLA to start on May 1st. We don't get paid maternity leave so I am using my sick and vacation time to cover the time I will be out which is only going to be 6 weeks. I would rather have that time after he is born as opposed to sitting around waiting for my little Riley. phoebejane -
Wednesday, 18 Mar I'd hold out as long as possibile missus as you will need the time after the baby is born. I only just finished up now with two weeks to go. We get 26 weeks paid leave here and you can take a further 16 weeks unpaid if you wish. I still worked as long as possable though because the time goes faster anyway. Glad you are both doing well :) BrandiH2007 -
Wednesday, 18 Mar FMLA allows 12 weeks, by law they have to, but it doens't have to be paid leave and your doctor doesn't have to recommend 12 weeks, but from what I've heard most doctors will if you want them too, especially if you are breastfeeding. I am having the same problem deciding when to leave work because I'm not sure how long I'm going to get for paid leave yet and we can't afford for me not to get paid.
Good luck! LilMrsK -

Tuesday, 17 Mar MY FMLA AT MY JOB ALLOWS 12 WEEKS. SO THAT LADY COULD BE WRONG AND THEN AFTER THAT YOU ARE ON YOUR OWN. BUT UMM WHO TAKES MORE THAN 3MONTHS OFF? NOT ME!! I CANT BECAUSE I START THINKING ABOUT MY BILLS AND THEM LITTLE CHECKS THEY SEND YOU HELPS BUT NOT MUCH. SO JUST START PUTTING UP MONEY NOW IF YOU HAVENT ALREADY DONE SO. LUCKILY HERE AT MY JOB, THE EMPLOYEES ARE ABLE TO DONATE SOME OF THEIR PTO TO OTHER EMPLOYEES THAT NEED IT! SO ALL OF THE ONES THAT I AM FRIENDLY WITH GAVE ME HOURS SO THATS GONNA HELP ME ALOT ALONG WITH MY HOURS. darrius mommy -
