16-8-2008 - 15 WK APPT. ExcitedMy mood while writing this blog:
Excited

8-11-08

I went to the perinatal diagnostics center my doc sent me to so there doc's and techs could make sure both babies were growing right. I found out they meet the critera for identical twins (share a placenta, have own sacs), now were just waiting to see the sexes to confirm. They were laying right on top of each other kickin and movin around (lil wild things) but the doc said the membrane seperates them so they cant get tangled up with each others cords...also they mesured all body parts and all that good stuff and there both the same size (ones not hoggin blood or food ) and no signs of spinal bifida or mental retardation :) wew what a relief....we find out the sexes on 9-10-08 .....anyone else been told they may be having identical? i was told it was rare to have them so were so how exciting? i couldnt have asked for better news..

Congratulations! I'm very happy for you! I read this on wikipedia about ideantical twins (monoaygotic twins)

There are estimated to be approximately 125 million human twins and triplets in the world (roughly 1.9% of the world population), and just 10 million monozygotic twins (roughly 0.2% of the world population and 8% of all twins).[2]

I have my 15 week appointment on Wednesday, I'm so EXCITED! So far my dr. knows that the twins are in two separate sacs, I don't know how many placentas I have. I have identical twin sisters that were in two sacs! But then again, my oldest sister has fraternal twins, so I have no idea what to expect!
