| 21-10-2009 - I need some advice on how to get my 15 mo. old to sleep throughout the night. | My mood while writing this blog:grumpy |
My 15 month old son still doesn't sleep through the night. I 'sort-of' have him on a schedule, but it doesn't always work, and he always wakes up at night no matter what I try. Last night, he woke up an hour after I put him down, 12:30am, 3:30am, and then at 8:30am to actually get up. He had a bottle everytime. This is pretty much the norm and it's making me crazy. The only good thing about it is that I'm so used to being sleep deprived, if I do get pregnant, and have another one, it'll be a piece of cake to wake up all the time for feedings.
Matt's normal schedule is that he'll wake up for the day between 8-9am. He'll go back down for a nap around 10:30-11:00 and sleep for an 1 1/2 maybe. Then he might get a little fussy and go back down around 5pm for about 30 minutes for a quick power nap. Bathtime is at 7:30pm and then bedtime is at 8:30pm.
He is still on formula but he's drinking the next step stuff for older babies. I've tried whole milk but it turns his stool very pale and he is really fussy. I'm slowly introducing whole milk to him, but he mainly drinks the formula. I've tried putting cereal in it at night before he goes to bed. That doesn't work. He loves oatmeal... not the baby stuff, but the adult stuff. So, I've even tried making some of that for him right before bed and that's a no go too.
Everytime he wakes up at night, he drinks between 6-8ozs. and then goes right back to bed. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. Could any of you ladies give me some advice on how I can get him to sleep throughout the night? Thanks.
