I understand what you mean about no one coming to visit. My mother was like that when I was in college. I always traveled to see her. My inlaws live right next door, and my husband's siblings are there frequently throughout the week, but no one ever walks over to see us, ever! We have to specifically say, come see our fish or something like that. We go to my inlaws' house probably once per week.
