I went in August 25th for a scheduled induction at 6:00am.
The nurses prepared me with the iv fluids and hooked me up to the moniters. Everything was looking great. I got poked 2 times with the iv needle, the nurse blew up my vein in my right hand :( ouch!!! At about 8:30am the dr. came in and checked me... I was 2cm dialated, he said that we have the go ahead to start the induction. He applied the prostin gel to my cervix at about 8:45. I did some walking for a hour, my contractions intensified. I am known to have realllll quick births so, the dr. told me that (being 3cm at this point) if I wanted a epi-dural to do it now. So i did it, I got the epi-dural at 10:30. After the epi-dural, the dr. broke my water. The contractions were bad bad bad. even with the epi-dural. Well, i kept feeling this intense pressure on my butt hole (tmi) even minutes after i got the epi. So the nurse checked me and she said "wow, you are 6cm) She checked me at 11:00, baby Colin Andrew-Reno was born at 11:18am August 25th 2009... The dr. said my epi didnt work because I only had it for a little more then a half hour. The birth was extremely painful, no tears, no stiches though. It was all worth it when the dr. placed my new little baby boy on my chest... xoxoxoxoxox
