| 26-10-2009 - Glandular Fever (mono) |
My mood while writing this blog: Fine |
Well I got the results from my 36 week blood work and it shows I have glandular fever (mono to you ladies across the pond). I've had a cold for the past couple of weeks but thought the tiredness and aching was what comes with being pregnant. Turns out I'm quite 'lucky' as my midwife puts it. I had it 10 years ago and was off work for 3 months, which means that my body has built up antibodies against it. They think that my pregnancy has confused my body but thankfully I'm no-where near as bad as I was 1st time round. I'm now on bed rest, their main concern is that it can make you very tired very quickly and they're worried I won't have the energy for labour if I go before my EDD. No concern for the baby though which I'm so thankful about! It's the 1st case of GF in a pregnant woman in my area so I'm being watched like a jawk, just in case. DH has got to go for tests now too, we actually think it came fom him in the 1st place (he hosts karaoke and it could be passed using the microphone!) Sending him to Blockbusters to rent some cheesy DVD's to cheer me up now! ;-)
