to the ladys that have there bunndle of joys i have a couple of questions
1. what kind of pump did you buy and how much was it?
2.how often do you pump and how long do you pump?
3. how much do you get when you pump?
ok ladies my son is 1 week 3 days old i started pumping thusday as far as i know my milk has came in it white milky lookin. i bought the mifirst years pump cause i heard that was the second best pump to get the first best pump is medela but that cost like $200 plus for double and $100 plus for single electric pumps the breast pump i have is good but could be better i have big boobs im talkin double dds and i feel that the pump i have now is sucking but it could suck more to get more milk i have been reading ladies saying that they have so much milk that they have to store it in the freezer i want that much milk to pump out. i pump twice a day and for a hour and i get 10 oz 5 oz from each breast is that good or am i over reacting? and will the milk increas more and more daily? i also put my son on the breast at least once a day. any help is greatly appreciated. thanks

I am pregnant now and plan to exclusively bf but I also breastfed my other children as well. I just purchased the Ameda Purely Yours breastpump because after doing EXTENSIVE research I learned that Medela is not the best breastpump. The milk backs up into the tubing and contaminates the milk. All of their pumps do this. When purchasing a pump, you would want one that has different suction settings and different cycles to fit your needs. You can also purchase larger cones if your girls are larger. I had to do that myself. Also, are you trying to just pump your milk and bottle feed? Or are you exclusively breastfeeding? Because if you are only breastfeeding you should be nursing hime 6-12 times a day. If you want to store up some of your milk in the freezer you can pump one breast as he nurses from the other breast or pump after nursing him from both sides. It seems like if you are getting 5-10oz when you pump that is great. Always remember that the more you keep with it the better you and baby will be at it....Good for you choosing to bf because it is absolutely the best for your baby. Keep up the good work :0)
