ok so my husband first name is spelled duane and his dad is spelled dewayne and my husband has a middle name and his dad doesnt. so is he a jr?

my husband and his dad names sound alike but are not. they are spelled totally diffrent and my husband has a middle name now they call my husband dj cause the whole jr. thing but he is not one and it dont say it on his birth certificate. so i am wondering could he still be a jr even if they first name is spelled diffrent and he has a middle name and his dad dont? cause i am trying to figure out would my son be a jr or not his name will be just like his fathers every last letter and im trying to see will he be the the second or a jr. from what i thought was that in order to be a jr. you have to have the whole name exact but i was looking at my uncle death certificate and noticed that his name is james blade jr but my grandad is james henery blade now that is some what like my hubbie but his dad and his first name are spelled two diffrent ways. so if you ladys can help me out with this one i would greatly appreciate it.

I think the names have to be identical for him to be a jr. in spelling and middle name.

hello! my soon to be x-husbands dads name is william eugene and his brothers name is william edward and he is not a jr. I have always thought that the first name, middle name, and the last name had to be spelled the same way for both dad and son in order for him to be a jr. hope i did not confuse u and hope i helped

My hubby is Emil John and his Dad is Emil Herald. My hubby is NOT a jr. If I named my son Emil John he would be a jr. First, middle and last have to be identical to get a jr, III, IV etc. and the term jr and second are the same....hope this helps!
