09-9-2009 - 36 weeks, and good news!

My mood while writing this blog: so excited!

Here we go again, hopefully this doesn’t get deleted! So I went to the Dr. yesterday, I am 1cm dilated and 50% effaced! She said I won’t go past my due date, and that once I am past next week (week 37) if he is ready, she won’t stop him! I’m so excited to meet my little man! She said he is not going to be a big baby, as long as he’s big enough I am happy. I’m kind of excited that he will probably fit in all of his newborn size clothes, lol. I have to slow down a little at work she said, so I’m not taking any more color appts, just cuts/waxes. I will finish out my appts for this week, then hopefully my ppl for the next 2 weeks will come in early. Also, no sex for J and me, no big deal since it is pretty uncomfortable anyway.

I am almost done getting my house in order, got a new couch/loveseat, getting a new kitchen table tonight. It’s gonna be nice having everything clean and in order to bring baby home to. I washed all of his clothes and blankets in Dreft yesterday, and got those put away. I’m also making progress on the baby’s space, he is sharing a room with us for now, since we are still in my one bdrm apt until at least November. I was worried it would be such a tight fit, but I got rid of some stuff, put a lot of stuff in my huge (thank goodness!) closet, and rearranged. I have his crib, rocker/ottoman, and dresser in there now, and still have plenty of room to spare for the changing table and bookshelf I am putting in. J’s mom painted our dresser, and is painting the changing table for us, and bought us the rocker. I ended up putting the crib together my damn self, J kept saying that it didn’t have the pieces it needed, and that the lady I got it from off craigslist didn’t give me everything I needed, but one day I was cleaning and couldn’t take it sitting there anymore, so I laid it all out, and surprise! It all went together just fine. I guess that’s what happens when you ask a man to do something, lol! I will post pics as soon as everything is together.

I have to find a pediatrician this week also. The nurse asked if we had one yesterday, and I’m glad she did, because that had completely slipped my mind, oops! I need to finish packing my hospital bag, and the baby’s. I’m not too worried about that since I only live a few minutes away from the hospital. I’m going to let my bf pick out his coming-home outfit, everyone has made a big deal about what he’s gonna wear, I feel kinda bad, but I just don’t really care what he wears home. Like I said, I live 5 minutes away, so it’s not a big deal to me!

Our biggest thing is we need a name! We were set on Rylen for a while, but we also liked Wyatt, so now we’re kind of thinking of naming him Ryatt. Everyone we have talked to hates it, but we like it, and he’s our kid, we’re the ones who are going to have to yell it at him! Lol. And if he doesn’t like his name, he can just go by his middle name (Zak), or get a good nickname. So I guess we shall see with all that, hopefully we get it figured out before we leave the hospital!

I’m hoping he stays in til next week though. I was having a ton of contractions this morning when I was trying to sleep, but I need to get in the habit of counting and timing them I guess, cuz usually I just ignore them and go about my business. I am also trying to savor every little kick, elbow, and punch, cuz now that I know he’ll be here sooner, I know I am going to miss feeling him in there. I’m kinda sad, lol but I’m sure once I see his face and hold him, I won’t care.

Well I really hope all you ladies are doing well, can’t believe we’re all so close! I can’t wait to see everyone’s babies, and maybe by my next blog, I’ll have mine! Hang in there mommas!
