| 03-10-2009 - Happy 1 Week B-Day to my Ryatt! | My mood while writing this blog:so in love! |
So my little man is one week old today! I can honestly say that I have never been more happy in my life. Every little thing he does, every little noise, every little expression makes me fall in love with Ryatt and his daddy all over again. It's hard to believe that Jake and I made such a perfect baby by accident, lol! Ryatt is such a great baby! We think he's going to be a daddy's boy because anytime he's fussy I just hand him to Jake, and he's happy as can be again. Jake is such a good daddy too. He is great with Ryatt. He was so good during labor, and he still makes me feel so beautiful and loved. I couldn't ask for a more amazing partner in this experience. I can't wait to get married and eventually do this all over again!
Enough about daddy tho, my little Ryatt is doing great at night. He has been sleeping in his crib (I got a sleep positioner for him, and it makes me feel a lot safer), and he has been waking up every two hours to feed/ change diaper, and goes right back to sleep after. He sleeps in till about 11 am everyday with me. He rarely cries, pretty much only when mommy changes his diaper. He is doing better than I could have hoped with breastfeeding too. I finally stopped cramping everytime he fed, but he still latches on like a little raptor. It hurts really bad, but I am trying to put a finger in his mouth while he is latching to ease my pain. Luckily it's only right when he latches on, so it is so worth it to be able to give my little guy breast milk. I also got a medela symphony breastpump from my cousin to borrow, and it is amazing! My bbs no longer feel like they are about to explode, lol. I'm also surprised to say that the diapers don't bother me! I got pooed on twice yesterday, and just laughed. I think a big part of it is that I've only changed diapers of formula-fed babies too, I think the breastmilk kinda helps that too.
As for me, I am adjusting pretty well to the sleeping when he sleeps thing. I always get up with him in the middle of the night since I'm off work, and there's not much Jake can do when he wakes up since we aren't bottle feeding him yet. I am still healing from labor, slowly but getting there. I worry sometimes because it still hurts pretty badly, and the dr. had left gauze in me after labor so I had to get a vag. exam after being stitched up (worst pain of my life!), and I'm hoping that it all came out. I'm gonna call my ob if it's not better by next week. I also get really wierd feeling shocks up my back if I move a certain way, or touch my back a certain way, I'm sure it's just nerves after the epidural, but hopefully that stops soon too! I can't wait to start doing crunches to get my stomach tight again, I ended up with a few stretch marks on my belly, and a bunch on my butt, but oh well!
Well I gotta go feed Ryatt, hopefully all you ladies on here are doing wonderful, and those of ya whom I talk to and are still waiting for your babies to arrive, lots of labor dust to you!!! And hopefully you girls who just had your babies are as in love with them as I am with Ryatt! Have a great weekend!
