My mood while writing this blog: concerned |
Just wanted to share some knowledge about flu shots to shed some light for those of you considering it. Flu shots are changed several times a year as the viral strains change. They have been using tested technology for creating flu vaccines for years! Therefore the swine flu shot is not any more dangerous than the regular flu shot that most of us are quite happy to get. Also, if your lil one is born (especially if early) and you happen to fall sick, they will be more at risk not only because you could get it and spread it to them, but also because you would not be able to share any antibodies that you may have developed from a vaccine. Long ago, some vaccine manufacturers used mercury in the preserving liquid of some vaccines (not flu by the way) that caused problems but this is no longer the case. I will definitely be doing everything I can to protect my twins, including getting the swine flu and regular flu vaccine!

Wednesday, 26 Aug Our doctor right now is still cautious about whether or not we should get swine flu vaccine so he's going to do more research about it before he makes his decision whether he'll actually suggest it to us. Sounds like you are doing your homework and I understand the need to protect the little ones, I'm the same way!
