04-3-2010 - Need an advice on feeding

My mood while writing this blog:
Ok

My baby Bella is almost 9 months old. Ever since she was born, she was a bad eater, she just does not want to eat to much. We started her on solids at 5 and 1/2 months, no problems. She is now on Stage 2 Beech Nut. She has usually oatmel with fruit in the morning, some veggies at noon and dinner around 7 pm. She never finishes the jars usually just a half and most likely she will almost skip one of them completely. And she does not make up with increased intake of formula. She usually nibbles on 2 oz every 3-4 hours. Seriously, it does not seem to me, that she is getting enough nutrition. She was always in 25 percentile,now her weight is stuck for more than a month on 17 lbs. She is a very happy baby, playful, but when I get a report from child care, that she did not eat breakfast or lunch and had 6 oz of formula between 10 and 4 pm, I don't know what to do. Her dr. sucks, because unless the baby is really sick, she dismisses everything like it's not a big deal. Now Isabella is very interested in pizza and spagetti with tomatoe sause, I think she will be getting spagetti for lunch today. But I don't want to feed her unhealthy food. She still has no teeth. What are the meals you feed your baby, that's not baby food? What kind od table food is good for her in this stage? To me, it seems like she is just done with baby food and wants real stuff. Any ideas very much appreciated.

Hey..my daughter is 10 months and she is a great eater..(my son was like your Bella and would not eat..)..Well Ella eats jared food..she eats everything we put in front of her..she eats table food too with us..What I do is put a matt on the floor and a plate of chopped up things for her to pick up and eat herself..(she loves to feed herself)..she will eat cut up cucumber, tomato, ham, turkey, chicken ,bread ,potato,paster, pizza, sausage,peas,carrots,cauliflower....what you can do is Buy baby gravy and baby paster sauce and baby curry..and you can cook up some potatoes and chicken and peas..and pop some baby gravy on..also the same with the baby curry..just add sausage or chicken and cook up some rice..things like that..hope this helps a little..take care..oh also I give her fruit to hold and eat..like banana and Peel an apple and I let her hold it and munch on it...Ella does have 8 teeth though..so maybe banana would be good..x

My dd will be 9 months on the 6th. She was always a good eater but very tiny. We have given her cheese slice and turkey breast lunch meat, sheppard's pie, chicken quasadilla, pancakes, steamed vegetables, the baby pasta and when I make it next I will be giving her chili (not hot) My dd also eats only three times a day. She gets 5tbs cereal at breakfast, 1/2 jar meat mixed with 1/2 jar vegetables at lunch and half jar fruit and then the same thing for dinner. She drinks 2-3 6 oz bottles a day.
