| 05-5-2009 - Proud Momma | My mood while writing this blog:excited |
Man, when are they gonna get some new mood icons!? I mean they still have Christmas
ones up there. On to my blog...I am finally at a place where I can do things while
taking care of Aubrey so I wanted to give an update and hopefully see how you guys
and your little ones are doing as well. Aubrey is huge! At her 2 month appointment
she was a whopping 14.4lbs and 23.5 inches long. She is wearing 3-6 months and even
a few 6 month items because things are too short on her torso and arms. I am strictly
breast feeding so it makes me proud that she is so healthy with just my milk. This
week I started pumping into bottles and feed her from the bottles during the day then
put her to breast at night. That way my husband can help and it prepares her for that
aweful day I go back to work on Tuesday, May 19th. I have mixed emotions about going
back. I'm looking forward to getting back to some of my pre-pregnancy normalcy. I
have left behind "party Megan" and don't plan on being her for a long time but I can
at least get back to the career part of myself. I think the adult interaction will be
nice but I'm going to miss her SO bad! I only go back part time so that's good. I'm
the boss at my branch so I can really come and go as I please as long as my branch is
running properly. Aubrey is 9 weeks as of Saturday. She is doing so much. She scoots
during tummy time and is great with her head control. I think she's going to be
crawling in no time. When on her play mat she reaches and smacks her favorite toys
that make noise. She loves bath time and after I wash her up in her chair, I take her
out and hold her head & let her splash around in the water while I sing a "swimmy time"
song. She's really been making some waves lately. At about 7 weeks she started trying
to stand up & now every time I burp her she's standing up on my belly. Speaking of
bellies- I have been doing crunches & the Wii fit but it's taking so much longer than
I anticipated to bust this gut. I am fitting in my pre-pregnancy jeans but my work
pants are tight on my hips and butt. Not professional looking at all! Aubrey is also
laughing out loud now. We haven't gotten a full belly laugh but it's so close. When
she's cooing and talking to you, if you talk back to her she will keep going. It's so
cute- like she's really talking to you! She squeels so loud too. She loves her Fisher
Price Ocean Wonders. That thing soothes her to sleep so easily. I've been putting her
down when she's tired and not fully asleep and now she soothes herself to sleep. She
goes to bed around 9:30 and usually get up between 3-3:30 then we get up for the day
around 7-7:30. I can't complain in that department! She's a sleeper like Mommy. I
was trying to get her on a schedule before returning to work and it took about a
week but we've got one now. I found it easiest to do the 3's so I feed her at 9,12,3,
6 & 9. She takes about 5 ounces at each feeding. Her naps are about an hour long
and I get one 2 hour nap usually between the 3-6 feeding. She does a lot more
independent play time now too. I never thought we'd get there because we were having
daily visitors for so long and they wanted to hold her so much that she became
spoiled and always wanted to be held. I wasn't getting anything done when she was
awake. I started putting her on her play mat or in her bouncy seat and slowly
increased the time that I would allow her to fuss. Now she LOVES her bouncy seat
and talks to the little turtle that hangs from it all the time. She still doesn't
love her swing but we're working on it. The schedule has been great and she's such
a happy baby! I'm going to update pics today too. She's changing so much. I hope to
hear updates on how you all are feeling, how life has been after baby, and what
amazing things they are doing to make you smile.
