I just wanted to know if you have to have a sweep before your induced. Im now 4 days overdue and im seeing my midwife on thursday. Ive heard that having a sweep hurts and it dosent always work, so i dont want to have it done. Will she book me in the day after? Hope someone can help me with my questions. My body is aching and hurting so much. Im really uncomfortable now.

You dont have to have anything you dont want hun. However i would say youve got nothing to loose by having one. I had one and it was slightly uncomfortable thats all, you just have to relax a bit when they do it. Besides its nothing compared to labour and you do have to go through that so its up to you if you want to go natural or be induced. If you want to go natural your better off trying the sweep. I dont know but i've heard being induced is no bed of roses and is more painful than going naturally. Just some thoughts for you x x
