My mood while writing this blog: let down |
i had an appt with the midwife yesterday to hear the heartbeat, so the daddy and my best friend came with. Not so good, I was anxious to hear it because of the week long fever I had but no such luck. I cant remember what terminology she used for it but basically my uterus is tucked behind my cervix so they couldnt get the heartbeat. She barely seemed concerned , then asked me if I have been feeling my baby, which is a big no, but i dont think you are supposed to feel them at 12 weeks. So no reassurance, and shes not sending me for an ultrasound. Im hoping this doesnt cause a terrible labor/deliery leading to c-section, so guess I'll have to wait and see, and Im just hoping my baby is ok. I have another appt. in two weeks where they will try to get a pap again since they cant find my cervix with the speculum, ugh guess this is what I get for being on Medi-cal.

Monday, 22 Jun Hi-- sorry to hear they could not get a heartbeat. It sounds like you may have a tipped uterus---I have one as well. My midwife also could not find the heartbeat at my last appt. She kept picking my heartbeat up. I was also worried but then I ordered myself a home doppler--think it was about $70....I can hear the heartbeat with this but sometimes it takes me ages to find. In terms of feeling the baby at 12 weeks--thats crazy most moms dont feel the baby until at least 18 weeks....if its your second pregnancy you'll probably feel it earliler- but at 12 weeks the baby is only 2.5 inches...too small to feel much! Try not to worry......I know at 12 weeks it can be very hard to find a heartbeat--you need the doppler in the exact right position. alexandnicksmommy -
Friday, 19 Jun Try to stay calm you don't need to have that stress on your body. I am praying that all is well for you!!! Keep me posted!!! MrsStrickland74 -
Friday, 19 Jun I am so sorry to hear that. If the doctor doesn't seem worried I would try to stay calm, but I know that is easier said than done. carly79 -
Thursday, 18 Jun i have a friend on here and that can't get a heartbeat cuz the baby is on the back of the uterus.....there is no way we could feel the baby now...though someone told me we can feel in at week 15......i'm sure all is well but i wish they could get you in sooner for your sanity.....i don't see why having a fever would hurt the baby..isn't it crazy how scared we get...i keep having dreams were i am bleeding and then the baby is trying to get out and my belly is all scratched up......have you already had an ultrasound? i forget?
