25-11-2008 - i need your help ladies

My mood while writing this blog:
frustrated

OK im in a bind right now so I really need advice....I have 2 months or possibly LESS left and 3 options to choose from and time is tickin!!!

ONE- daycare....shit I do NOT want to resort to daycare....but I may have to....daycare is so expensive and my poor man would be workin his day job for free to pay for it....so he would never be able to see me or Brayden and then when he did he would be a grump because hes always so tired!! not only that but daycare calls you about anything to come pick your kid up, a cough, a runny nose...and we cant just leave our jobs any time to pick him up....I mean there are SOME plus sides to daycare like him socializing with other children (obviously later in life) and learning and playing and just being out of the house...but as a baby I dont want to resort to daycare...

SECOND- Steven and I have talked a lot about maybe after I have to go back to work, him taking time off from his day job or quiting one of the 2 to be home during the day with the baby while Im at work and then Ill be home at 5 to take over so he can have some "him" time to do what he wants before hes got to go to his night job....there for he would have bonding time, wouldnt be paying so much for daycare, wouldnt be working 2 jobs and one for free, and wouldnt be as tired....

THIRD- someone who takes care of children at home...heres my problem with THAT....all the people i would use, are BOOKED, and lets just SAY they became unbooked, is it a dangerous enviornment, whos all gonna be coming in and out while my childs there, what if they get sick and he cant go and I have no where else to take him, he wont get to be around other children....and its still expensive...so would Steven still be workign that day job for free???

I may be thinking to over the top but I really want to make sure Im happy with where my child goes and what he is going to be doing during the day while Im at work...and I definately want there to be a good relationship between him and his daddy but if Steven stays working 2 jobs, I have a feeling there wont be a special bond because the times he will be home, he will be sleeping like he does now! and I dont want him working for free either and losing that time he could have with Brayden.....after all Brayden will be WAY more important :)

so what do you ladies think?? 1, 2, or 3??? what do you do or what are you going to do??

i would do opt. 2 as well. it seems the best for the child. i would do a look online, their is something called subsidized care, and if u want to put ur son in daycare, and dont make a lot of money, which u might not since ur man is working two jobs ! then u could be eligible for free, or just pay like a co-pay for childcare. its worth a shot to look into it online if thats what u wanted to do.. whatever u decition, i wish u the best of luck ! <3 and congrats !

If Steven is working just to pay day care then I would say option 2, I dont think your being over the top your thinking about what best for your son.... Good Luck with every thing.

well atleast your planning ahead. I personally want and will stay home with my babies, but fortunately I can. Not everyone can and I totally understand that. I didnt even put our daughter in a daycare for an hour until she was 1 1/2 years and it was YMCA for me to work out. (plus all her cousins would be at the gym when we went:) I just enrolled her into school at 3years, and she goes twice a week. At 4 she'll go 3 times a week. Now with Aidyn I will stay home with him, but will enroll him in school at 2. (The school our daughetr is at) Its actually a school program too, they dont accept kids under 2 years old. So its not like a free for all daycare, its a baptist preschool type of program. Thats one thing though that Ive told my hubby before we even got married. "I will stay home with our kids, for the first years" My mom wasnt around and my dad had to put me in daycare 365 days a year , cause mom didnt pay for child support. So Ive always told myself I will be the primary care giver when my babies were young. So everyones experience, therefore action, will be different. I think maybe your man quiting one of two of his jobs would be nice. Then someone either you or him will be with baby. Only though if you can afford it. Personally daycares are expensive and I dont see a point in working ...just to pay for a daycare...not unless you profit a certain amount...you know!

well if u lived down here in texas i would soo watch him for u!! ive been trying to find someone to babysit for so that i can stay home! but id go with the second on since ur way up there...hope it all works out for u!!

I agree with philly...if you can afford to lose one of his incomes I would have him stay home with him. Once he gets older if there are always places he can go for just a day or two a week for a few hours to socialize...my daughter goes to our church Tues/Thurs from 9-2 and I think she is well balanced doing this.

Calm down, take a breath. If you guys can afford to lose one of Steven's incomes then i say go for option 2. It sounds good that he would have time to bond with him not be as tired and still have some him time. As far as socializing they have mommy and me classes that Steven could take the little guy to or just put him in daycare later on to socialize him
