31-8-2009 - 3 hours really!

My mood while writing this blog: disappointed

Well I just got home from the doctor and she had some wonderful news for me.......I have to go for the 3 hour GD test my insulin level was 160 when it is supposed to be 130. The scarcasm is just poring out of me!!! This Sucks!!!!! She said that she is not worried about it! and she knows I will pass! So I guess I have to give up my favorite craving ever arizona iced tea which is like pure sugar, I will give it up until I get the results back. So keep your fingers crossed for me! I want to know has anyone had to take this test and fail or passed and info would help. Thanks Love ya all!

let us know how it goes.... i have to take the first test when you drink that orange drink..i do that in 2 weeks. but good luck.. hope all goes well

hey hun. i also failed my first test with my doctor and had to go get the extensive test done. i had to show up early in the morning and i believe i wasnt to have eaten anything since the night before ( if i remember right) they take yuor blood every hour for like 6 hours. unfortunitly they have to prick you everytime. i ended up with so many bruises on the inside of my arms i looked like a druggie lol. plus the drinnk they have you drink is worse then the first one the doctor gives you. its sugar content is more then the first and it is aweful and i wanted to get sick and the lady told me if i did then i would have to drink another one for the test..ugh.. i did end up passing though.this maybe a little different for you since your in ny. but then again it might not be.good luck my prayers are with ya. when i thought about not passing i cried to my husbnad about not getting to eat chocolate cake :)

That sucks but just know that if you have it you only have a couple of months to go. Also, you can control it with diet or a pill so it's not as bad as having to take insulin. My fingers are crossed for you!
